75?s, mostly "Select All That Apply"

Published

Just took my test this AM,

am now starting to freak out

Test was 75?s, almost half or more were "select all that apply", or so it seems. (anxiety could be clouding my memory) :uhoh3:

I'm trying to figure out if the SATA questions are considered to be higher-level questions.

my SATA questions would come in strings of 5-10?s at a time. spent a lot of time wondering "what ever happened to multiple choice?"

does anyone know about the significance of SATA questions? is getting loads of SATA ?s back to back a good sign?

thanks!

well, its sunday now so probably just wait til monday:nuke: My prayers are with you:saint: Please do pray for me too. At least with your state you only have 48 hours, with mine since its CA, I will have to agonize longer haaaay....

ok ill just wait for it then..this waiting period is also a torture..We will just keep on praying for each other..Hope everything goes well....they said you can view your name on the CABON till 10days?

test results in CA get posted online pretty quickly...around 48 business hours

i believe there is another way to know your pass/fail status (if you have a valid interim permit), but this also will only work on monday-friday b/c the website is only updated between those days...

interim permits are voided once the results are mailed/released. if you type in your name, your IP will no longer show up if the passing results are posted (or if your failure notice has been mailed)...

if you search for your IP and it is no longer there, then search your name in the permanent license area...if it's there: rejoice! you passed :yeah:

if your IP is no longer valid, and you search your name in the permanent license area and it doesn't show up, :uhoh3:

I'm not 100% sure on this, and no one from my classmates has failed (or cares to share that info, understandably) to verify...

but, if it's true, at least i can prepare myself and my family for the not-so-great news that may be coming in the mail...

i'll just be sad b/c i literally spent everyday since mid-February studying: first, the WHOLE Saunders-Comprehensive Review (the accompanying CD has a pre-test that makes a calendar to help one finish the whole book in 30 days)...then, ALL of the Kaplan Q-bank: 1250+ questions @ 150?s a day; i even took notes/researched on the rationales of ?s i missed/got lucky on/had a hard time with, and, after sorting em out by systems it came out to 80 (!) pages of nursing tidbits...Lastly, the WHOLE exam-cram practice book, (5) 250 exams, 1 taken and reviewed each day...there is literally an indent on my couch from where i've spent the last month(s), save for the days sprinkled here and there of killer snowboarding this season has brought, so i can't whine for too long...:D

I just feel like I studied to pass, and every diagnostic/practice exam has led me to believe I would succeed given my preparation, but all those SATA questions, back to back, didn't let me use my NCLEX-trained mind and strategies at answering multiple choice questions...except for the priority ones, which the test ended with, also in a string of 5-7, with an SATA thrown in second to last, just to drive me mad...

are priority questions considered higher-difficulty? i always did well on priority ?s, so i assumed they were easy low-level ?s anyone know otherwise?

can anyone provide a sample "low level" SATA question juxtaposed against a "high level" SATA question? i'm pretty good at separating the recall/recognition mult-choice ?s from the application/analysis type MC?s, but w/ the SATA questions, each mini T/F item seems to be a mixture of recall info and analysis info, and i just can't tell!

wow. i wrote a novel. sorry guys, it seems i needed to vent. i think its time to put the laptop down and watch some basketball...pass or fail, it just feels good not to be studying today :D

good vibes and serenity to all! here's to not studying today...

I am also took it on April 17th...sounds like "D" day.....

I am also one of those 75vers.

I checked some answers and they were clearly wrong, also got tons of SATA.

3 months wasted, then to start from scratch again.....:banghead:

Sorry, but the average wait for CA is ten days. Not two to three days as CA will permit one to test if they graduated from school in CA before the transcripts have even reached the BRN; and they will not release a license until a file is complete.

There is no quick way to know your results until you see your name on their website. The IP trick that you are mentioning does not always work either. Just because a name is not there, does not tell you that you have passed the exam. Again, until one sees their name or gets written results from the BRN, there is no other trustworthy process to follow. And the majority of students here do not go for the IP as most employers want to see that the nurse has actually passed the exam before they will even permit them to test.

hi i stopped at 75 too...4 satas,,,so sad,,,

hi can i join here...i took mine last april 17 and still waiting for my result too..but pearson vue website says unofficial result can be viewed with payment..i dont know whether i pay or wait for the official result..what do you think...?

hi! i think its better to know the result earlier. it reduces your anxiety level and helps you plan what to do next. access to unofficial result costs only less than $10. good luck!:nuke:

You don't need to pay for early results. Just look up your name on your state's board of nursing site. Look under "licensee lookup." Usually it's there within 2 days of testing. If your name shows up...you passed.

According to suzanne4, the time to wait in CA depends on if your school sent in your transcript to the brn already b/c the BRN won't release your nclex results until your file is complete...

(i previously thought the CA brn wouldn't release an ATT until the file was complete, but i guess not...)

do you still speak to any of your classmates from your school? everyone of my classmates received their results in about 48 hours, so i'm hoping for the same, BUT, one cornerstone of nursing is flexibility, so i'm trying to prepare myself for being the fluke in the system that has to wait forever to find out

KCR411 and rose143--before you get too sad, remember that EVERYONE who PASSES the exam does so acquiring a score of about 50%--the computer figures out the level of your ability to answer ?s at a rate of 50%--if that level is above the passing level of questions (application/analysis questions), then you passed. also don't forget that 15?s (but you'll never know which ones) are TRIAL QUESTIONS and don't even count towards your score! confusing, but....

if you had 75 ?s, then only 60 of them count towards your score,

to pass, you have to have answered only about 30/60 questions correctly!

even taking the trial questions into consideration, to pass w/75?s, you need only 30-45 questions correct out of 75 to pass

that's heaps of wiggle room...

so if you can count @ least 45?s you surely got CORRECT, and if your questions were of HIGH difficulty (application/analysis), it's more likely the news you'll get will be of the GOOD variety

Thanks pinkroyalty18...soon you'll be telling us you passed too:)

Do you have a SSN? I doubt if you can see your name if you passed in the website if you don't have a SSN. Maybe you just have to wait for the official result:wink2:
