I'm currently taking pre-reqs to get into nursing school. I have my BA in psychology and am looking to get into an Accelerated BSN program. I have my eyes on Rutgers Camden. I was wondering if anyone had any info on getting accepted to this school. Any currents students enrolled in the program? Did you take the "recommended" pre-requisites prior to admission (Human growth & development, nutrition, & genetics)? I was planning to apply for Fall of 2015, but now that they're making the additional pre-reqs mandatory for starting that semester, I'm thinking I'll go ahead and apply for Spring 2015 admission and cross my fingers. (I haven't taken the additional pre-reqs) My BA GPA was 3.76 and I have A's in my science pre-reqs (I still have two to take in the fall). Any advice? Should I just go ahead and apply for spring admission, or should I just take the rest of the pre-reqs and shoot for fall admission?
I've sent two emails to Rutgers as well as calling, none were returned. I feel like I'm in the dark a little here.
Yea thanks! I was looking for some apartments down by riverfront and they look nice.how about neighbor cities in new jersey? I guess rent pretty standard at most places. I haven't heard anything about the staff either but that's good that your friend went and finished. I also applied to nyu & pace but haven't heard back yet these ones seem tough and much more expensive..oh and I'm from orange county mainly closer to Newport Beach lol have you been to California?
Cherry hill is nice! Would you bring your car because I think from cherry hill you'd need to commute. I applied to NYU too, still haven't heard. But I'm starting to think rutgers is a far better deal price wise. Both top 50 schools so I don't think either are a bad option. I actually dated a kid that work for Stanford so I was in Palo Alto area for a while. But I've been from Napa to San Diego. Beautiful place
Sadly I won't have my car.so id def take public transportation..im going to start looking at places there by December so if you know a decent price let me know you know I totally agree with you for me out of state student will cost me around 25000 which is not bad compare to 80000 for nyu that's a big difference.. But bot sure if I calculated it right. Oh nice never been to Palo alto but I've heard about it yea I live about 2 hours from san Diego def the beach and weather here are awesome. I've lived here for so long I feel like ready to explore more places lol. Where else did you apply? I just accepted Rutgers but the deadline to pay for $150 is nit until December 12th
I applied to NYU and rutgers for spring and penn and columbia for summer start. I obviously want to start sooner rather than later.
even living in NYC is expensive as hell so tack on a lot more To that 80k. Philly is great and Id say without a car would be optimal. Walking distance everywhere. And a super fun place to live.
Download ad the app "trulia" they give really good options. I'm also sure you can find a roommate in the same boat! I don't know of anyone who needs a room mate until july so I can't help there. Keep me posted on NYU and Pace, if those don't workout I guess I'll be seeing you in JAN!
Oh I see. same here I want to start early so I can finish and work already. I'm doing an intern at the hospital here now and I could get hired already if I have my RN licensed..living in NYC def will be a big decision for me since ill be getting full loans for myself so most definitely ill pick Rutgers..obviously I've never been to Philly but hearing from you seems like a fun place to explore...thanks for your input! I'll update you on the other schools as well and looks like ill be seeing you in January!
Hey I was researching more about the school and what people say is there a difference between BSN and BS major in nursing? Im just concern if we'r able to take the NCLEX or not..and passing rate for Rutgers still questionable I couldn't find it on the web for some reason. I'm so nervous for the intensive 15 months!

Hey! Id maybe recommend living in philly and commuting over. Camden isn't the "best area" but philly is right across the bridge. Rent Weil run you about 1000-1500 a month for a single bedroom. Haven't heard much about the teachers and stuff, but I have a friend that went through the program a year ago and said its hard but not too hard. Ha ha. Where in California are you from?!
