Rutgers Camden Accelerated BSN

Published

I'm currently taking pre-reqs to get into nursing school. I have my BA in psychology and am looking to get into an Accelerated BSN program. I have my eyes on Rutgers Camden. I was wondering if anyone had any info on getting accepted to this school. Any currents students enrolled in the program? Did you take the "recommended" pre-requisites prior to admission (Human growth & development, nutrition, & genetics)? I was planning to apply for Fall of 2015, but now that they're making the additional pre-reqs mandatory for starting that semester, I'm thinking I'll go ahead and apply for Spring 2015 admission and cross my fingers. (I haven't taken the additional pre-reqs) My BA GPA was 3.76 and I have A's in my science pre-reqs (I still have two to take in the fall). Any advice? Should I just go ahead and apply for spring admission, or should I just take the rest of the pre-reqs and shoot for fall admission?

I've sent two emails to Rutgers as well as calling, none were returned. I feel like I'm in the dark a little here.

Congrats!!! Are you def attending?

Yes, lol. It's the only school I applied to.. I live in Deptford with my hubby & 2 kids so it was really a no-brainer for me to choose Rutgers.

now to see if I can find some scholarships....

Oh excellent! I'm happy it worked out for you then! Im sure if you google It you can find something's out there!!

Thanks for all the information! I'm going to start looking through some of it and see what I can find! Has anyone toured the campus/seen the facilities for the nursing students? I'm thinking I might try to set up an appointment or a tour to see more of what Rutgers has to offer and ask more about the curriculum and things. Thanks again for the replies!

Did anyone accept their offer yet? If / when you do let me know if that process gives you a timeline on orientation and classes scheduling etc.

I haven't accepted yet, but I do know that they have their schedule of classes for spring posted already.. so you could look them up to get an idea of the schedules. Although I do wonder about clinicals, when they start, what days they fall on, etc, etc.

mru, I did visit the campus, the nursing classes are in a rather old building (bummer), apparently they're building a new nursing school that will be open just around the time we would graduate (lucky us, right?)

It's funny I looked around and saw the classes yesterday but I didn't know if there would be more options.... Looks like you could clump the class to go mon Tuesday, thursday. So who knows

Hi Guys! I was just accepted to Rutgers-Camden School of Nursing Yesterday morning! I'm from California soo I'm not familiar at all with the area.. any recommendations as to where to live, expenses, etc?
