Hi there guys! I just submitted all my applications for Nursing School, including Rutgers ABSN Fall 2017. I am super stoked!
However, I am just missing two classes. They are Lifespan and Nutrition. Does anyone know where I can take Nutrition in New Jersey? Thanks. :)
Finally! Got my acceptance in the mail! Got in both schools. Will be heading towards New Brunswick. I did my undergrad at Newark, and I really need a change of scenery. Newark is okay, but there is way too much crime in the area. I got my car broken into twice in one year on campus! No way am I going to go to Newark all over again. Good luck to all! -John
Has anyone heard about rejections or wait-list yet? I haven't heard anything and while I'm assuming that is bad news, I am trying to stay positive!
I know in my situation a couple of my transcripts were delayed because of an error on my Registrar's part and CLEP scores got there a couple days after the deadline too, so that could definitely be the case for you as well if anything might have caused a delay. I know the letter is gonna take awhile for me since I'm pretty far away from Rutgers. Try to stay positive!
@lengland Yes, I did my undergrad at RU Newark. If you received an acceptance from both schools, I would highly recommend you go to New Brunswick. Apart from the nice scenery New Brunswick has, it is a much more friendly and safer environment. Within the last 2 years at RU Newark, there has been a plethora of crime reports involving students getting robbed on or close to campus. In fact, two students were killed in separate events on campus by outside criminal within the same time. My own car was broken into twice in the area during morning hours. So, yeah, I'm not saying it is EXTREMELY bad, but things do happen more often then not. I would go with New Brunswick. I'm actually going there myself having been accepted into both programs. Hope this helps. Good luck. - John.
Two questions:
1) Has anyone been assigned their RUID yet? If so, how did you receive it?
2) I saw that prior cohorts made a Facebook group for their group, so I went and started a FB group for the Fall 2017 New Brunswick cohort. Help share information, or something to that effect :) I made it a closed group, but you can just search for it "Rutgers ASBN Fall 2017 New Brunswick Campus", request the join, and I'll add you in. If anybody else wants admin privileges, just lemme know!

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but if this helps at all, I previously graduated from Rutgers back in 1999 with a double BA in Sociology and Religion (no hard sciences only social science classes) with a GPA of 3.8. I did do two years at the University of Delaware before I transferred to Rutgers with a GPA of 3.3. Rutgers did not include my GPA in their calculations but Nursing CAS most certainly did. So combined the previous BA was 3.55. I did all my prerequisites at Brookdale Community College, taking as many online classes as I could - nutrition, chemistry, psychology, statistics) as well as in class for my A&P 1 and 2, and Microbiology. I was fortunate enough to get a 4.0 in those classes.
I hope this helps.
Congratulations to all those who are being accepted. I'm still considering which campus I'm going to go to but am leaning towards New Brunswick because I think it will be an easier commute.
