  1. Hmmm... It should be a searchable group. I checked the settings. I don't know how to hyperlink on this forum, but try this link: Log into Facebook | Facebook Lemme know if it doesn't work :)
  2. First day is right after labor day. We have four consecutive terms: fall '17, spring '18, summer '18, and fall '18. And then we graduate :-) Academic calendar with breaks and exact dates: Academic Calendar | Scheduling and Space Management
  3. Two questions: 1) Has anyone been assigned their RUID yet? If so, how did you receive it? 2) I saw that prior cohorts made a Facebook group for their group, so I went and started a FB group for the Fall 2017 New Brunswick cohort. Help share information, or something to that effect :) I made it a closed group, but you can just search for it "Rutgers ASBN Fall 2017 New Brunswick Campus", request the join, and I'll add you in. If anybody else wants admin privileges, just lemme know!
  4. Congratulations everybody! I'm looking forward to meeting y'all attending New Brunswick at orientation!
  5. I heard today also via mail! I'll be attending at New Brunswick :-D Is anybody else planning on commuting other than me?
  6. Yeah, but that's something that you'd hope they'd just accept you on academic merit pending that you pass the corrected course. Right?
  7. I use a paper planner in my every day life, but a smaller 5"x7" one. Starting nursing school in the fall, and I hope to still use my paper planner, but I'm starting to wonder if I'll want something larger. Or god forbid, digital. I'm only 30, but I feel like I'm 80 with technology!
  8. The Rutgers FAQ section (optimistically?) says 3-4 weeks for admission decisions... **bites nails** Second Degree Baccalaureate Program | Rutgers School of Nursing
  9. Fall! I've been working on my prereqs for almost 2 years now and am chomping at the bit :) You?
  10. I'm hoping to start an ASBN program this fall at Rutgers (NJ state school), so somewhere between $25K and $30K for the whole program. I started my pre-reqs 2 years ago, and my husband and I have been aggressively saving since then. I'll be leaving my job, so the savings we've hoarded will hopefully be enough to pay tuition cash and cover living expenses while we're on 1 income for that 16 month span. That being said, I had a VW diesel and they bought out my scandal-ridden car . We pocketed the cash from the buyback and financed my new car in full, which is effectively taking out a $17K loan at 3% interest. I'm not sure I could get a student loan for that good. Anyway, we cross our fingers, live frugally, and I'm hoping to maybe be able to pick up a part time job (CNA?) in my second term or so! Either way, no cruises for us anytime soon!
  11. I.... just filled out everything. It all seemed really redundant, but I hit a wall with trying to get answers too, so I just did everything. Better safe than sorry, right?
  12. Hi VGiordano23! No acceptance letters are in the mail, but I'm going forward optimistically.
  13. The only certification we need is the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider certification for Adult, Child, Infant and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). They ask for a copy of that in the program requirements section, I think.
  14. I have taken all of my prerequisites at community college, which Rutgers has said are just fine. You might be able to avoid the Chem shenanigans by taking a Chem class that's "organic". I took "general and physiological chemistry" at Mercer County Community College, which is a class designed for healthcare students, and the lady in the Rutgers program office said that it would suffice for the Chemistry requirement (that way I avoided having to take Chem I and then also Chem II). The nursing office at Rutgers was helpful in assisting me in finding a Chem class in my area that would meet the program requirements - you might consider giving them a call and saving yourself some grief.
  15. Hi Johnwick101! I'm working on getting my application completed now, and I'm super stoked and just crossing my fingers. I took Nutrition and Lifespan online at BCC (now RCBC)... recommended. Good luck to you! Is there anybody reading this who has already started the program who can weigh in on what it's like?
