Hey everyone!
For those who have applied or are interested in applying to Rush University's Generalist Entry Master's (GEM) Program, I'm here starting a thread so that we can get to know one another and keep each other informed throughout the application process.
I submitted my application December 20th through NursingCAS and completed the supplemental application on the morning of December 21st.
I was e-mailed almost 3 hours after I submitted my supplemental application for an invite to interview for the month following the application deadline (February) since the deadline is January 4th.
Has anyone else already received an invite for an interview?
I'm coming from Bay Area CA, so I'm hesitant as I'm quite unfamiliar with the area. I've heard Chicago is an awesome city to live in, so please feel free to chime in on your experiences with this area as well as I'd love to hear about it. Also, if there are any people currently going through this program, any comments/advice would be much appreciated!
Thank you all and GOOD LUCK!!!
Thank you Dikid! I will be attending the University of San Diego's MEPN program. It was a really tough decision between RUSH and USD, but ultimately, USD won out for me. They're both terrific programs (Rush is ranked #16 for grad school nursing while USD is ranked #34 by U.S. News), but ya just can't beat the cali weather. Not to mention my lady and I have considered moving to San Diego before. This is just the perfect opportunity for us, and I like the plethora of new grad programs in San Diego, new sim center for nursing students, the use of standardized patients, and a one hour plane ride to most of my fiancee and I's families in Norcal.
Hey guys, I just found this post and wanted to share with some of you who have gotten waitlisted. I originally had applied for the Spring 2016 semester and was waitlisted (my number was 12 and I moved up all the way to 6). I was not taken off the waitlist, but I was offered acceptance into the Fall 2016 program without having to reapply, so that is what I decided to go with instead of starting at DePaul for Spring 2016. I do believe that the Fall cohort always has more applicants and is always more competitive, but you never know what can happen! Good luck to you all in the future!
Thank you, vpet. I was, too, really surprised how fast the number moved up! I guess considering how many people were out-of-towners at the First Look, they probably chose school near them rather than moving out to cold Chicago. Your number wasn't that far from mine. You might get a call soon!
Dheil2 how long did you wait before you were offered the next cohort?
I am not certain about this. But I heard they are not offering slots for the next cohort anymore. Apparently they had accepted many people in advance for this upcoming falls semester and that is one if the reasonis why admissions were so difficult this round
