Rush University GEM Fall 2016

Hey everyone!

For those who have applied or are interested in applying to Rush University's Generalist Entry Master's (GEM) Program, I'm here starting a thread so that we can get to know one another and keep each other informed throughout the application process.

I submitted my application December 20th through NursingCAS and completed the supplemental application on the morning of December 21st.

I was e-mailed almost 3 hours after I submitted my supplemental application for an invite to interview for the month following the application deadline (February) since the deadline is January 4th.

Has anyone else already received an invite for an interview?

I'm coming from Bay Area CA, so I'm hesitant as I'm quite unfamiliar with the area. I've heard Chicago is an awesome city to live in, so please feel free to chime in on your experiences with this area as well as I'd love to hear about it. Also, if there are any people currently going through this program, any comments/advice would be much appreciated!

That's correct, they are not offering the waitlisted people a spot for the next cohort anymore. Molly confirmed this at First look 9/17/2016

Hello All!

I am applying to the Rush University GEM Fall 2017 Cohort.

I just got my invitation for an interview today, less than 30 minutes after my app was verified by NursingCAS! I was wondering if any of you all could shed some light on interview tips/ your backgrounds. Should I be excited I got the interview? I appreciate all your help! Also, where can I find my prerequisite GPA calculation on the NursingCAS application?

I immediately got the interview notice as well. You can see the calculated GPAs by going to Status/Choose Rush/click download PDF and it's basically your entire application. Scroll down below transcripts and you will see GPA calculations! Good luck!

Hi, FutureNurse518. Are you on the thread for Rush Fall GEM 2017? If not, put that in your search and join that one. You should have heard back by now. I got wait listed but not too far down so I'm hopeful. Hope you got it!
