Roseman University 18-month Program?

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

Hi everyone!

I saw a couple of thread regarding Roseman's nursing program but most of them are dated from 2012 or so. Anyways, I was curious if there is anyone currently in the 18 month program and how do they like it so far. I'm going to be starting there this August and just wanted to hear from current students.

There's no need to be "scared" of the curriculum at Roseman. First of all, you pretty much always get the group points. Once you have all your group together, you figure it out enough to get 90% no problem. I'm in the ABSN program and I can say that my degree in kinesiology was MUCH more difficult than the ABSN program at Roseman. The exam questions can be tricky but if you study the right way, you will be fine. By the "right way" I mean, you need to focus on how the material relates to nursing and the nursing process. The nursing process is, in a nutshell, assessment, diagnosis, intervention and evaluation. If you combine that with risk factors that go into each disease, you will have it down.

Some people might feel different but if you were able to excell in science classes like anatomy and micro, nursing school will not be that hard. We have waaayy more freetime than I ever anticipated.

The students in my cohort have little to no problem with the curriculum or the difficulty of the program, complaints are more directed at the disorganization of the whole program in general. But the way I see it, it's a relatively new university and I give them the benefit of the doubt. Then again, I'm only in block 5 and I really haven't been impressed with any of the faculty, save for my clinical instructor right now whom I really like.

Roseman has high NCLEX pass rates and it gets the job done, I have no regrets.

Hi,

Ohh my gosh! I was actually thinking of ABSN, and will originally plan to attend the University by Oct 2016. I am still doing my pre nursing ( Prereqs) done. I did all my Science class by nxt year. One of the lady for the ABSN right now is working with me and I'm trying to enroll by income tax for those science class ( money wises, thats why after income tax). I am not as fortunate un like other students, so getting this degree for me will take awhile, and thats why I am only able to get 2 classes or at a time depends on my financial situation. I a saving most of my loans for the actual program.

So in short, I cannot answer about the science class. Although I never had a problem with it from before, I would say I more scared of Math than the actual science. I am just being honest, I can fight hard for science but when it comes to MATH, i am not good with all those Algebra and stuff, which I am doing right now.

I would love to hear from you more, if you dont mind me asking for your email and stuff. I wanted to do the ABSN, I also heard from your cohort as well, the lady said that so far in your group no one has BEEN DROPPED OUT YET, I am worrying about how most of the program the "lecture" will be over a computer, and then labs, clinical will be at school. I just dont know how that works? I am an online student, but the thing with me is this is NURSING, and I am thinking that shouldnt be better when everything is taught face to face?..

** How was lecturing, then going to school for the assessment which would be recorded workout for you?

** How Could u pleases explain how does the ABSN program works? like, Basically it will start with the theory lectures, then they will ask you to go to school and do labs based on what you have learned on those lectures through the computer? (Do instructors have a little lecture at school before labs starts?)

** You mentioned that, I dont have to worry about the 90% on the exams, basically how many items are in an exam, and just to give an estimate, in your exam, what would be the safest scores that you have to get? I dont know if I am able to express my question right.. ( like if there are 50 items on the test, are u still safe getting 5 wrong answer?)

** and the 90%, is that refers to the exam only? or you have to get 90% and above on everything? In short, what does the 90% refers? like is that the total grade for each block?

Like for block 1, of course you have to get 90% total after all the exams, labs etc, are all calculated or, that 90% is what the whole thing should be after everything has been added to it?

Hopefully I can talk to u more BOUT The ABSN program, do u mind giving me ur email?

Thanks

Roseman University is a very good program, intense and if you're lucky enough to be in a cohort of friendly and supportive people, you'll succeed. I have my own reservations about the school, but overall it's great quality. I recommend though, looking at other options only as the cost of attending this private school is ridiculously high (but California is worse). I recommend that if you do decide to go, that you are required to maintain a 90% or higher all the time to stay in the program (both ABSN and Regular). There are plenty of mental breakdowns over maintaining this grade and in the end no one hires you over another registered nurse because you have straight A's.

Always ask yourself this: "Is what I'm going to make on average worth the cost of doing the job?"

To be a doctor costs anywhere from $100,000-$600,000 (I know a top 10 school in Texas that costs $150,000. Totally worth it.) A doctor makes about that per year, but with student loans and private loans, they can make it out barely with the shirt on their back. Same with nursing, if a school costs more than what you will make per year, I certainly believe that the cost outweighs the benefit of having that education. Roseman is certainly tittering on the edge of that fine line. I digress, money is not the topic here. The program is good. Have the mental stability and a good support family (and financially) because it is difficult to maintain the 90%.

If anyone wants more info on Rosman ABSN program, PM me and I'll drop you my email.

Hey Spurse32! I would love to hear your take on the Roseman ABSN program... Because I'm so new on here I am unable to PM you. Would you be able to PM me with your e-mail? I am starting the program next month and I'm kind of getting anxious...

I am going to be starting the ABSN program in Utah. Our orientation is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of February. Is there any one on here currently in the program in Utah? I'm just looking for general questions.

I'm going to apply to Rosemans August nursing class, does anyone have information about how good the school is, is it better than NSC or UNLV? How are/were your experiences in this school? are the teachers good? How do people at clinicals react to roseman nursing students, do they respect them? thanks in advance.

Hello all. I am currently applying to Roseman BSN Traditional Fall 2016. Just had my transcripts verified in nursingcas...I have applied to other schools too in Texas and still waiting for results. I am very intrigued about Roseman so any insights about their BSN would be very helpful.

Id highly recommend the Utah campus for the traditional BSN if you have the option... Please pm me if you have further question.

Thanks for the input heatherisbetter. I have an interview March 16. Anyone else?

@Lola28

do you know if it is easy to transfer to other universities coming from roseman? just in case someone wants to pursue a master degree later on.

how many people started in your cohort group and how many graduated with you?
