ROSEMAN ABSN Summer 2021

Published

Hi all! I couldn't find any threads for Roseman's July 2021 cohort so thought I would start one. I am from California and applying to the Henderson NV campus. I know applications don't open until December 1st, but thought I would get a jump on this since many of us are getting application stuff together. Feel free to share stats, advice, or anything else!

Thank you so much from the info!

I'm wondering your perspective on this too. I've heard there's trouble getting a CA job simply by having out-of-state licensing. Have your peers had trouble with finding CA jobs for that reason, or just job impaction/COVID?

Thank you so much again!

They all had jobs lined up so they had no trouble with that. Just the paperwork takes a while. Hospitals are always hiring, it just might not be the department you want to be in.

Are you trying to get a roommate? I estimated my roommate cost would be about 700 after utilities. Honestly I think it could be cheaper, but it just depends on how many roommates and where the place is. I also put 120 for food and 87 for car insurance because that’s my normal cost for the month.

I’m just trying to figure out how everything works, if we are going to have to apply for private loans again do I have to reapply for them next two terms? Or can I just apply for a higher amount now and not have to worry about it for our last three terms? That is what is confusing me ?

Mrs. Becker said to reapply again because I asked how much I would take out if I needed to cover all 16 months and 25 days. Since the first part is only 8 months.

Gotcha that makes sense, I just don’t want to take out too little and then need money halfway through the term ?but then I also don’t want to be drowning in debt after school

@kayyc @samantha.bowl94 How did you guys figure out which private loan company to go with? There are so many out there and I'm having a hard time on which one to choose!

I was going to do Parent Plus Loan, but if that doesn’t work then I was going to do private. I’ve did the PPL before.

@chocomilkcereal I think I’m doing my loan through lend key!

I was looking at that one but I'm still comparing the other loans. What made you choose that one?

My bank goes through them as a student loan lender so it will be easier for me to apply to that one

I'm in the same boat. I'm researching all of them and leaning towards BofA or Discover but still not sure. This is my first time taking out a private loan so its a bit overwhelming

Same here! I only know of Sallie Mae but I wanna keep my options open.

BofA as in Bank of America? I have them but I didn't know they had student loans!

Has anyone been able to waive their health insurance yet?
