Rosalind Franklin University CRNA 2024

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone! I will be applying soon to Rosalind Franklin University's CRNA program starting May 2024.

I know applications in NursingCAS will open on August 10, 2023 and will close on December 15, 2023. I've heard that it is very competitive with rolling admissions so apply early! Interview invites have gone out in September in the past with virtual interviews taking place between October and February. Admission spots were offered last year as early as October.

If you have anything to share throughout this application process, please post here!

Good luck to everyone!!

Will all clinical sites be based on region assigned/picked? Like all rotations in Colorado Springs for all 1.5 or so years?

I am not sure! I think you get to pick? But I am honestly not sure. I wanna say if you pick Colorado Springs, you would be out there for all clinicals with rotating to different hospitals. Anybody else know anything?

Did you also specify your clinical preferences during the zoom? The overview video seems to put emphasis on it and that acceptance will also be based on which clinical region you want.

Could you elaborate more? What do you mean by clinical preferences?

They have information about the interview format on their website but I think it's a little dated ? if all else fails I guess just go in like it's an interview

Can you post the link where you found that info?

@purplereign23Yes, I remember that part. It really seemed like they based your acceptance on that.

Oh okay. That is the impression I am getting as well.

I'm sorry I'm still not understanding. There appears to be certain required sites and then probably some that will be preference, additionally there is the wild Colorado option. Last year when I attended the zoom portion we weren't really ask our personal preference. I think they mentioned Colorado but that's not realistic for most people who live in IL. So are you saying that they are more likely to admit people who want to go to CO or who want certain clinical sites nearby?

If you put Colorado as a top or 2nd preference, EXPECT to go there for at least 3 months. Some people go there the whole time.

You will have at least one distance rotation (I.e. will need to live near the hospital temporarily). You assigned your sites. Some can be 15 min away, some can be 3 hours away.

Say more, what did they ask you and what did you feel like was the wrong answer? Did they ask if you would go to WI and IN for clinical sites bc it seems like that's the expectation

The expectation is that you will be able to rotate to IL, WI or IN sites. CO is an option and if you put that as a preference you will likely go there for a period of time.

They vary but if Colorado is a  top 1-2 preference, you will likely go there for a least a rotation. The expectation is for all students besides those going the whole time in CO to be able to rotate to sites in WI, IL and IN.

Many people going to CO, don't live there (this might be different for future classes). They moved there during the program for clinical. Some people even moved twice (once to IL, then to CO).

As of now, you can choose if you want to do all your clinicals in CO (unless they can't find a certain rotation you need). For the sites in IL, WI or IN you don't really pick, you get assigned. The expectation is that you will be able to rotate to those sites in all 3 states. RFU's site has a map of clinical sites currently and it gets updated/changed periodically when contracts change.
