I am attending Lorain County Community College, in Elyria, OH. I have all of my pre-requisites done except for Microbiology, which I am taking this Fall. Then it's time to apply to Clinicals!
from my orginal post:
"I'm in the Nursing Program but on the 'waiting list' for the actual Nursing classes at UMA (Univ Maine at Augusta).
UMA accepted 60 of my credits from my AD in Medical Assisting, which leaves me needing 6 classes prior to the actual Nursing Classes.
The classes I need aren't available the day/times I am able to take as I am still working 40 hrs/week.
I'm signed up for 4 classes, 2* I need and 2 to keep my full time status for FAFSA etc.
*World Civilization
*Sociology
Developmental Psychology
Mathematics and Applications "
I received a phone call yesterday telling me there was an opening for Human Development which I need so I am taking that and dropped Dev Psych which was not required.

I will be starting my prereqs this fall in a 5 semester ASN program.
Although, it will take me 7 since I have to take Algebra and a
Patient Care Tech course. Intro to Biology was full so it set me
back another semester as well. We have to take 4 Biology classes
one being a prereq for the next but we have to have the first two
over with before we start the nursing classes.
This semester I will be taking:
Freshman Comp I
Intro to Psych
Chemistry
Algebra
(13 hours)
Next semester:
Intro to Biology for Majors
Patient Care Technician
Freshman Comp II
(13 hours)
I have a lot of anxiety about starting school. I am a mother of 3 and
have not been to school since I graduated HS back in 1991. I am just
worried about my study skills and the time I'll be able to allot for it
when my kids are hanging around my ankles 24/7 :chuckle
Here's wishing us all a smooth ride!

LOL - I was thinking the same thing. Spanish would be a biiiiiiiig plus out here in Southeast Colorado as well! We have TONS of migrants - in fact, I wish I knew it for my present job (Social Services eligibility tech/case mgr). :) Maybe one of these days I'll actually have time to learn some :rotfl:
