Has anyone applied to SUNY RCC for nursing Fall 2022? I submitted all my forms for enrollment/nursing (I'll be transferring to this school) and even went to a Nursing Info Session at the school to find out more about the program. Seems to be a very competitive program to get into. I'm hoping my TEAS score is enough to get in since that is the only criteria.

Good Info! so basically we find out which nursing process course we will have after registration on the orientation day. We will then know what subjects to get a head start on. Do you feel like they teach you to prepare you for the "select all that apply" questions or is that something you really have to figure out on your own?

No they don’t guide you. Do not wait. It is a mistake. You are teaching urself everything. Including skills you will be tested on. You will teach urself with videos and the packets they have available. They will not teach you how to take select all that apply questions. For LPN first semester you will take lpn to RN course (is just about leadership and stuff like that…nothing science) and calculations unless you test out. That one is easy. It will be the last time you get an easy grade. You also have a medication pass skill which you should know how to do if you are already an LPN. For new students with no lpn you will be taking fundamentals that is NUR116 and NUR118. 116 is body defense, psychological regulation, nutrition and elimination needs of the older adult client. 118 is body defense, mobility, gaseous transfer and chemical regulation. you can find more information about each class on the RCC website. I believe it should be the first couple of chapters in the text book.

Great, thank you!

Hi everyone, I'm considering making a separate forum to help out currently accepted nursing students at RCC. For anyone attending New Student Orientation, maybe we can also try to get each other's contact information there too if some of us can't PM yet. Let's all meet at the New Student Orientation site at 9:30am to chat and get each other's info?

Hi. Wait are there different orientations? My orientation is June. 22 VIRTUALLY at 10am.

I may need to invest in a voice recorder.

Hi, it might be because you're in a different program? You're doing LPN to RN/weekend or evening program right? My orientation is on June 6th just like @AFitz1981. So for anyone who has orientation that day, maybe we can all try to clarify with one another that we are attending that orientation on June 6th. It starts at 10am based on what I see on my acceptance letter.

That sounds like a good idea. I think a speech to text app would help too if you're looking to write notes more quickly.

I also have orientation on June 6th. I'll  be attending as a part time student. Which from my understanding is 1 nursing class per semester.

So sorry guys I arrived at 9:45am on Monday's NSO, but I saw that everyone was already seated inside and I signed myself in and sat down. How are you all doing? I have my schedule for Fall semester now.

Oh also, I asked the nursing student that graduated how many hours she worked while in the program, and she said that she worked 10-15 hours a week. That might not be possible for me, but I'm trying to work out my work schedule with my manager.

Congrats to those who were admitted to RCC.?? Does anyone mind sharing their TEAS score and how they prepared for if ? I’d appreciate it as I’m interested in applying in the Spring.
