Rockland Community College Fall 2022
Hi! I am currently in the program and I am very happy with it. The testing style can be hard to get used to and stressful since they test just like the NCLEX. But this is how I think about it. I'd rather learn now how to pass that test the first time I take it after two years of nursing school. you cannot work until you have that license. I have quite a few friends that went to other nursing programs. Got great grades and took almost two years to pass the NCLEX. RCC is KNOWN for their nursing program. KNOWN for their NCLEX pass rates. It has a great reputation amongst the nursing community and agencies. AM I stressed? YES! LOL but I expected that. I never met one nurse who said they loved and enjoyed nursing school. You are learning a alot..testing alot..and expected to be adults and study and do your work on your own time. Every hour of my day is scheduled. I have a job, children, I travel far to come to this school. It's not easy but its totally doable. And just for reference I never got great grades in HS. I am doing well in my courses here. I study A LOT. I would suggest if you can to take as many as the non-nursing courses you can ahead of time. I took the micro, anatomy etc courses before I applied. It will definitely help lighten the load so you can just focus on your nursing courses and clinicals. Best of luck!

Yes I am mon-Thursday and will be taking the calculations class online as well. Im glad you mentioned that you reached out about the text book b/c it was on my to-do list for today! I really need to know so I can order and start reading a bit ahead. I felt like there were a few things from NSO that they were supposed to follow-up with in an email LOL I need to go through that list now and see if I need to reach out about anything.

Rockland Community College Fall 2022
HI! I took the TEAS twice. First time was at home remote and I got a 75. my power went out and had all of these tech problems so I scheduled for in-person exam on campus about 2 weeks later and got a 83. the questions were different but not having all of the timing pressure of the tech difficulties was a relief. I bought the ATI test prep online version. I just kept reading and taking the practice exams. It scores you and then I would just focus on the areas that were not my strong points. I also looked up Youtube videos like craftmath for the math prep and Carolyn Mcallister for the English. Good Luck!

Good Info! so basically we find out which nursing process course we will have after registration on the orientation day. We will then know what subjects to get a head start on. Do you feel like they teach you to prepare you for the "select all that apply" questions or is that something you really have to figure out on your own?
