RN pay in long-term care, home health?

Published

I'm an RN in Tennessee considering moving to NC, either Charlotte or Raleigh. I've heard that RNs make about 20/hour in the hospitals in Charlotte, but does anyone have info on the pay in other settings like home health or long term care/nursing homes? I work in long term care in Tennessee and have found that I surprisingly I love it (I know, it's not for everyone). Just wondering what the pay would be like down there and if the job market is as tight as it is for hospital-based RNs?

Thanks.

Nobody? I'd appreciate any info I can get. Thanks.

Sorry I can't give you specifics because I don't know the exact number myself. All I've been told is that it is "more" than hospitals pay. I will be graduating in May and am interested to know this information myself as I am not that excited about acute care.

I still consider myself a new graduate, but technically I guess I'm not anymore. I have been working for a LTC/rehab facility here in Raleigh for about a year now. I'm from TN as well...I am making about the same as if I were at a hospital here ($21.00/hr) I guess it depends on where you work at.

I'm a new grad LPN in Charlotte & most LTC facilities start us at $17-$21. Not sure about RNs.

I have 18 months experience and I currently make $24.00 per hour on the 7a-7p shift at a LTC facility as a RN.
