Hello there,
I am currently an BSN on a Intermediate/Telemetry floor.
While I have learned a lot I am ready to move on. This job just doesn't fit my "niche" and working night shift is too much for me (issues with depression-I am happier in the days).
I am just under a year experience (10 months- I have given this job a fair shot, i'm just not happy at my current job).
What kind of jobs can I find for with this amount of experience?
I am looking for perhaps a new specialty or another area of nursing I never even thought about but I can find a job in having not ALOT of experience. *day shift preferred
Thank you!

give this job another 2 months to get your year in... you've given it 10 months, you can do another 2
Well, I am planning on staying for a year. I am starting to look now because I figure by the time I find the job, apply, interviews, etc. etc. I will be about a years experience.

I had 9 months of dialysis inpatient and was offered an OR job.
You're a nurse! You qualify for other jobs! Just gotta get your foot in the door and find someone willing to give you a chance. The OR job I was offered did tell me that I wouldn't be offered the position without my current experience.

Maybe if you told us a little about yourself and your professional strengths/weaknesses and preferences ... we could help you better. All you have really told us is that you don't want to work nights.
Looking back at your experiences in school for example ... what types of nursing did you enjoy the most? the least?
Are there certain populations of patients that you enjoyed working with? (e.g. elderly? children? ambulatoy? etc.)
How do you feel about going into people's homes? (and into "bad" neighborhoods?)
etc.

I had four months and started applying around. I managed to find another job. However, I'd just make sure it was a job you'd love.

I started interviewing/applying with only 10 months and I have another job on the table already, and a couple of phone interviews with other possibles. 10 months is more than enough to land another job.
