HCA North Texas hires new grads all the time.
I'm a new grad RN with four years of LVN experience. Although I've applied to several HCA hospitals in North Texas on multiple occasions (Plaza Medical Center, Medical Center of Arlington, Medical City, etc.)., I always receive an email that my qualifications are not what they are looking for.
Specializes in Med/surg.

Hi. My suggestion: keep applying. You haven't applied at ALL HCA North Texas hospitals (unless you didn't list them all). Also, the law of averages says that the more applications you put in, the more calls you'll get. What if one or two out of twelve return your call. If you've only applied at eight, you've still got an average of four more to go before you'll get a call. Simple (crummy) statistics.

Good luck to you. I don't mention my employer on this site for many reasons. But I think you need to keep your chin up and KEEP LOOKING. It will happen.

i ran into brick walls everywhere i looked when i graduated.....especially plaza.....they were just straight up...you don't qualify because you don't have the experience we are looking for...its ok keep using agency to cover those shifts....could never get a response from harris and huguley gave me the run around.....i applied at baylor never heard anything...this is why i ended up at a ltach and i'm glad i did.....

Just got my license this May and began working with the State of Texas as an RN II with no experience, July 1. I'm working at a State Supportive Living Center. The population consists of the developmentally disabled and mentally ill. Starting pay is $30.31 /hr or since payday is monthly $5254/mo. Don't really do what you'd do in the hospital. Mostly, PO meds, no IVs, trach care, some g-tubes/peg tubes and mostly assessments and followup (paperwork). Depending why you wanted to be a nurse, this may or maynot be for you!!

Hi all,

I am a new graduate RN and work in Uvalde. The pay is 22/hr. I love my job! I did clinical's in both Uvalde and Eagle Pass. Personally, I would not work in Eagle Pass. That is just from my own personal experience there. I had planned to move to Arizona where I am from and my family lives, but there were no jobs for new grads. My understanding is it is getting difficult in the bigger cities for new grads to find jobs. I wasn't happy about it all to begin with, but it turned out to be a great place to gain experience and work. I have wonderful co-workers willing to precept me and it is a manageable workload for a learning environment. Don't know if you are still looking but best wishes wherever you go! :nurse::nurse::nurse:

Hello, I am a new grad from Illinois and as everyone right now it's extremely hard to find a job. I have an oppurtunity to go to EP but it would really have to be worth it. I was wondering if you did end up working there? If you did can you please give me more information. Thank You.
