I found online this position, and they hire new grad. I called and they said they paid $25/hr. Anyone know this position? Can anyone explain me more about this RN position? Thanks
it is a way to get your foot in the door somewhere though...
I had my interview today, and the recruiter said they were way more likely to hire someone who has worked in the units, knows the computer system well, and can be vouched for by employees there rather than a brand-spanking new grad.
This is not exactly true...I know someone who graduated in May 2012 as a brand new grad they hired her on as an EPIC User and within 6 months she was working on the unit in a full time clinical position...

Hi everyone,
I went to the interview on Friday at 10 am and I received the offer at 11:30 am the same day.
They interviewed about 20 people in one hour with 4 interviewers. My interviewer told me they have many openings and look for RN who is not afraid of "changes".
I think for those who haven't had their interview for the super user position, you need to know the job description.
This is a full-time temporary position (to July-August). After that, they will NOT assign you to any other clinical position.
The only advantage is during this 5-6 month period, you can apply to the clinical position you want as a current employee.
They might ask you some questions on how you overcome some big changes in your life, what did you do? how did you do?
and why you're interested in this position.
Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I didn't explain myself clearly. I was actually agreeing that it was a foot in the door. Even though you're not in a clinical position as a super user at first, you'll be an employee of the hospital and get to know people in the units who will be able to vouch for you when you do want to move into a clinical position. That gives you a huge leg up over a brand new grad, and that's exactly why I accepted when they offered it to me just a few hours after my interview :')

Also, I know that new computer systems can really slow you down and frustrate nurses. So I feel this is a way to get very comfortable with the documentation process and get a feel for different units before starting bedside care. I actually thinks it's not a bad idea for new grad RNs., providing it does lead to a permanent position somewhere! I also have an interview this Wednesday. Good luck everyone!
