RN endorsing license to California-BSN Philippines graduate

World Registration

Hello there everyone! Im a licensed nurse of the state of NM but a resident here in California. I am a BSN graduate in the Philippines so the easiest way for me to get an eligibility is to go apt to nm which i did and was licensed.

Now, i wanna ask if anybody knows or anybody here experienced endorsing RN license from another state to California which is an international graduate like me. I am hearing some Philippines graduate are being denied for the endorsement application despite passing all the requirements. Anybody of you guys who could tell me their experiences if theres a chance for me for my endorsement application. They need a lot of requirements from my school my cases and clinical logbooks. is it true that philippines graduates requires to go to school and take deficient units despite being a licensed nurse from another state?? Im getting worried because its hard to relocate to other states. I love to work here in cali. Thank you and hoping for some replies from you guys! Needs help so bad. Thanks and god bless us nurses!!! :)

Hi! I am also a philippine nursing graduate batch 2004. I hold a registered nurse license in the state of vermont. Today, i received my california registered nurse license by endorsement. It took 8 weeks for them to process my application.

I'm not a foreign graduate, but when I endorsed to CA, even with a license in another state, they required copies of my transcripts. You have to meet CAs educational requirements- even if you're already licensed in another state.

You just processed ur endorsement for 8 weeks? Gosh your so Lucky!! Did they ask for your ass schedules and registrations and clinical cases?? They want me to pass those requirements. They didnt require you to go to school huh? Congratulations!!! :)

Didnt they require you to go to school? Are you aware of what batch years from the Philippines does california board of nursing requires to take some deficient units??? Thank you!

If you take the extra time to read the hundreds of affected threads and postings, you'll find that the CA BON was looking more into those PH grads from around the 2004 year, so janejanepons may have just made it under the wire. Also just know that she applied under the endorsement process.

However, you'll find that many many PH grads and nurses are being denied from 2004 to present. Forget about trying to find the easiest, cheapest and fastest to get your ATT and RN license, you'll find yourself "stuck" in that state if trying to endorse into CA. CA has only approved a handful of PH applicants since the Nov. 2011 strict concurrency rules.

CA BON also will require a copy of your local country's nursing license and a valid S/S# to apply. As mentioned above, each state has its own requirements and must meet them to qualify.

Read the many threads in the "Nurse Registration", hold your tongue and bring out the crying towels.

I too am an affected PH grad.

Approx. 2004 to present, say "thank you" to the CHED, PRC and PNA agencies.

Kabayans, read ALL the threads posted in the World forum, under "Nurse registration", lots of good reads over there. But here's one on the concurrency: allnurses: For Nurses and Nursing Students - Latest Articles Here's how to comply: allnurses: For Nurses and Nursing Students - Latest Articles The other States enforcing the concurrency rule: allnurses: For Nurses and Nursing Students - Latest Articles CA BON discussions about PH grads: allnurses: For Nurses and Nursing Students - Latest Articles One option after getting denied by CA BON: allnurses: For Nurses and Nursing Students - Latest Articles Those trying to endorse (transfer) from one State license into CA: allnurses: For Nurses and Nursing Students - Latest Articles Guys, there's a lot more to read in the section mentioned above!!!

All is not lost yet, read here on how this one successful PH poster was recently able to meet the concurrency problem: https://allnurses.com/world-nursing/received-att-california-832461.html

Post your questions on her thread there.

Thank you so much for givin me some information. So what r ur plans now? Have you been denied here at california for license endorsement as well??

I was approved. My licensing analyst from CA BON asked me the following documents

1. Copy of my social security card

2. A copy of my philippine nursing license

3. A copy of my Nursing diploma with english translation

4. Nursing transcript sent directly from my nursing school to BON

5. Clinical portion of transcript ir RLE sent directly from my school to BON

6. Educational breakdown form sent directly from my school to BON

I asked my school the expected delivery of my school documents. They told me sacramento received all my school documents last july12, 2013. And fortunately after 4 days my name was already posted in CA BON permanent RN license holders.
