Hi I was wondering what the dialysis RN training looked like for both Davita and Fresenius respectively. The number of weeks, hours, exam etc. Is the training the same?
I am looking into getting into dialysis and wanted to know how the training varied.
Thank you!

Good luck! Fingers crossed for you! You have experience in the dialysis setting and know the ins and outs, and realities. That will definitely be in your favor

Thank You! I only worked for 3 years as LPN at chronic dialysis(and loved it!) I'm not sure if that's enough experience to work as an acute RN. I hope they will still train me for at least 6 months since I will be by myself most of the time.

You will most likely be trained for a year. New RNs are. Regardless of previous experience

We are never scheduled for more than a 12 hour shift- sometimes we stay longer if closing the clinic and someone has transportation or blood pressure issues. I don’t mind because anytime over 12 hours is paid at double time (California)
