RN to BSN without stats, chem, foreign language

Nursing Students Online Learning

Hi everyone.

Looking to jump on the bandwagon and go back to get my BSN. I don't want to.... at all... but I'm going to do it.

I may be asking for a lot, but I'm looking for any online school that allows you to achieve your BSN without stats, chemistry, or foreign language. I don't really care about the cost to be honest. I just don't want to take these.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yes. Stats only. But very doable

Capella doesn't have any of them. I'm trying to decide as well. Same thing I don't want chemistry, foreign language or stats if piossible. I'm only getting my BSN because my job requires it by 2010. Otherwise I wouldn't. How did you like GCU?

No real issues with GCU.....very well laid out online classroom....Each class pretty much follows the same layout....2 Discussion Questions (DQs) due each week....1 on Wed and th eother Fri at Midnight....and of course u have to reply to so many posts.....and a paper due Sunday at midnight...sometimes 2 papers, but usually only 1......And most classes have a group project..usually due week 4 or 5. All classes are 5 weeks long I believe......Capstone has now been changed to 10 weeks. It is like most RN to BSN programs.,....write papers, lol I have chatted (online) with a few that have taken Stats...guess the class has changed a fair bit since I took it(2014) and they have found it very challenging. But of course some find #'s more challenging than others.....I think its a decent program, but their are a lot of good programs to choose from.

you are going to need the stats and chemistry is very important. I don't understand why you all dont understand that they don't make up stuff for you to take for the heck of it. It is important.

Not sure about anyone else, but I don't think stats helps me at all as a nurse! But anyway, Capella RN-BSN Flexpath does not require Stats, Chemistry or foreign language. I took Stats with Excelsior before doing the Capella program, it wasn't too terrible with them, but then I didn't need it anyway! Oh well.

We don't use statistics. I've been an Icu nurse for 10 years and at top hospitals too .

You really only need statistics if you want to understand published research (and if it's required for your degree program, of course). Do you ever want to make things better for staff or patients according to the evidence that demonstrates best practices? Then you might want statistics. Do you use it at the bedside? Not really. But yes, we use statistics when we want to make changes.
