I am looking for online RN-BSN programs and FIU looks like we have to do so many requirements to get in. While I have most of them, I lack the personal Liability Insurance.
I have my license already, and if I make a mistake at a facility, won't that mistake go towards my license?
I was looking all over the net for programs (public schools only) and the only one I found was FIU and the other state schools do not specifiy this.
I met a nurse who was doing the RN-BSN program during my clinicals in school, and said that FIU gave her the run around so she decided to opt for private school..... but private schools are so expensive! and I have a family to feed... and tuition reimbursement is only $4K a year (which would probably cover a state school)
please help me!
thank you!

FAU has a pretty good one, all classes offered online. State school.

Where in FL are you?
I'm in Tampa Bay and both USF and SPC offer the BSN program and I've seen requirements for both and I don't remember ever seeing anything about personal liability ins.
Did you look into University of Phoenix? It's all online, but I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Saint Petersburg College has an RN to BSN online and is community college prices, but I'm not sure if you have to be local or not.
I went to Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences online, a private Christian school, which didn't mention having to have Liability Insurance (which isn't a bad idea anyway and isn't that expensive, so you could bite the bullet and get it). I'm not sure $4000 a year would cut it, but it would come close. I used $2000 per year of my tuition reimbursement and took out $7000 in student loans and spent a total of $10,000.
I'm in miami FL so FAU would probably be best and the closest just in case I need to go up there for anything.
FIU is too complicated!
I just need something simple, where i can show my license and start the program!
thanxs guys!

I will look into Saint Petersburg College.
FHCHS is so expensive! $225 per credit hour plus a bunch of other fees!
I need to spend only $4000 per year for the tuition reimbursement, even if I have to go part time, that is my budget for school :0)

I looked into USF and I saw that they had an RN-BSN program, but I do not see anything about it being online. But I didn't see anythign either about personal Liability Insurance.
University of Phoenix is $$$$ and I only have a $4K per year for my school budget.
(I figure to take advantage of the tuition reimbursement since I am working for the hospital anyways!)
what is SPC??

SPC is Saint Petersburg College that I mentioned above.
I don't think USF's is online yet.

Hey!!! I know this might amuse you, since you have had bad experiences with the school, but try Miami-Dade. They have an RN-BSN program which is all online! Also it is made with the working RN in mind.
You might want to consider it. I highly doubt it is as competative as the nursing program. I hear the one in FIU is not to competative to get into. Try to get some info and tell me what you think.
I also know FSU (Florida State University) has a program online as well. Perhaps you should check into that. There are a lot of opportunities for you to advnance in your education, and I congratulate you on that!!!!

Thank you for the info. I will look in to the universities.
After giving it a lot of thought- I think that FIU will be my best option-- and the requirements do not seem as bad as I thought in my original posting.
So I am actually going to an information session pretty soon at FIU.
Butterflyyessy, that just make me LOL when you mentioned MDC.
Since they did not want me---- I don't want them either.
I never ever ever want to step a foot at that campus as a student ever again. I am passed MDC- and passed BCC so I want to move on to bigger and better things such as at a university level.
but i appreciate your good thoughts though:up: so thank you for that.
Lol Ibknow...but you have to keep the options open. I am trying to expand on an educational level as well and I will probabley nake my way to FIU in the future. All my friends go there and I am looking forward to having the possibility of attending there as well.
Keep me posted on admission to the program, and you experience there.
