I am looking for online RN-BSN programs and FIU looks like we have to do so many requirements to get in. While I have most of them, I lack the personal Liability Insurance.
I have my license already, and if I make a mistake at a facility, won't that mistake go towards my license?
I was looking all over the net for programs (public schools only) and the only one I found was FIU and the other state schools do not specifiy this.
I met a nurse who was doing the RN-BSN program during my clinicals in school, and said that FIU gave her the run around so she decided to opt for private school..... but private schools are so expensive! and I have a family to feed... and tuition reimbursement is only $4K a year (which would probably cover a state school)
please help me!
thank you!

I live in Massachusetts (though I started my college career in St. Petersburg, Florida, through SPC (SPJC at the time). I am weeks away with finishing my online RN-BSN with SPC and it has been a great program. Challenging, but great. I pay out of state tuition, though... =(

that is great about SPC! I was looking into that school- but was afraid I would have to do oncampus clinicals for community health. But since you mentioned to that school, I could always use a backup to FIU!
thanks!!
BumblebeeRN, I did (currently am also) have clinical time to complete for my Family, Community, and Leadership Practicums =( with SPC's program. I know some RN-BSN programs do not have clinicals to complete. It has to be arranged by you where you live, which can be challenging. BUT, SPC's program faculty are all PhD level instructors - can't beat that!
Good luck!

sure I will. I think that FIU is the best.
oh since you mentioned MDC-- I went to their website-- and the information is so disorganized. it doesn't say anything about their accreditation-- i think that this might be the first year that they offer their RN-bsn program.
Since you are going to MDC-- look at these photos. Look for one that says "nursing pinning ceremony"
http://www.mdc.edu/medical/photo_archive/default.asp
something to look forward too.
(LOL, comparing it to my BCC experience--- BCC's ceremony was a lot better...
LOL-- at bcc we were the ones on stage-- and the audience including the teachers were at the audience--- and when we lit our candles--- they turned off the lights so it was just our candles lighting the auditorium---- it was very nice. I am happy I bought the video! LOL

I always joke around at work because when I tell them that I went to BCC they always ask me if I live at broward--- and then I just have to tell them when they ask me why I did not go to MDC, I tell them "well, I am an MDC reject!" and we share a big laugh---:chuckle
