RN to BSN online

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone!!!

I'm a new Florida RN and wanted your advice/info on any online RN to BSN tracks here in our beautiful state. Thank you in advance. I live in Pensacola Beach.

Specializes in CICu, ICU, med-surg.

FSU has an online RN to BSN program. I'm a little biased since I'm a student there. I don't really know anything about the program, but you can read about it here: http://www.fsu.edu/~nursing/rntobsn.html

I'm sure there are others, but I don't know what they are. Perhaps someone else can help.

Specializes in Med-Surg, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiac.

Todd, thanks for the link! Since you go there please please please tell me that "Survey To Chemistry" means NO LAB???? I have H&P lab, but not chemistry lab. I'm looking for an RN to BSN that doesn't require chemistry lab.

What is Statistics Through Example. Is that the same as "Elemetary Statistics"?

Thanks!

Sorry it took me awhile to respond. Just saw your question. Woops!

There is no chemistry lab required. Yay! Yes, "statistics through example" is the same as "elementary statistics."

When are you thinking of starting?

Hi there. I am a Florida resident though I am not presently living there. I am a travel nurse right now. I attended FCCJ in Jacksonville for my RN. I was stationed at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola. About schooling, I am starting the RN to BSN online program through Jacksonville University. It is fully accredited and the online course is exactly the same as the on campus curriculum. It is an expensive program but worth it. There is financial aid through the application process on the FAFSA website. There is also the F.R.A.G, Florida Resident Access Grant. You have to be enrolled fulltime and at a private university like Jax University. Fulltime online is considered 2 courses per 8 week semesters. You can graduate as early as 18 months. The next session starts on August 29th. Food for thought

all4Jesus, that's pretty cool you were stationed at NHP. I'm doing preceptorship right now there.

My mom has also worked at NHP for a long time.

Jacksonville University has a highly accredited nursing program, and they have a online RN-BSN ranked just as high. I am starting this fall. They have actual classes that run for 8 weeks. It is a very structured program. Although you still complete the class on your own time, there is a timeline. And I'm told there is streaming audio/video for the classes. The only drawback I've found so far is the cost, it's pretty expensive. But that's what financial aid is for :)
