Hey Oubrerodeo; I have taken NR351 several semesters ago. It's a fairly simple class. Gets you acquainted with the online community in addition to incorporating some essential nursing competencies. One great thing they will focus on is time management which is crucial when you are taking classes that are online. Trust me; it is too easy to say "Oh I'll do it tomorrow" when you don't physically have to go into class. BEWARE! Classes are 8-weeks long, if you miss a deadline or a week of classwork/homework/project/discussion; your grade will be in jeopardy. Also karmaxpress11; the cultural diversity course is very intensive; prepare to bust out your article researching skills and do a ton of writing. It's all worth it in the end. Other than that; Chamberlain is an incredible college with tons of resources. I wish the school I went to for my AAS degree was this comprehensive. Also; if you need any tips or advice, feel free to reach out, I'd be glad to help you on your journey. Email: [email protected]
I'm starting on the 4th as well. I'm taking NUR 351 and SOSC 350. Who is your instructor for NUR 351? I've got Kristosik.
I was originally going to finish the BSN with MSU, but their transfer database only goes back to 1992 and they were going to make me re-take English compostition and my algebra classes, since I took them in 1988. The hospital I work for has a contract with several RN-to-BSN programs and Chamberlain was one of them. They took all my credits, so I'll be done on Oct. 28th. YAY!
That's awesome!! I have shenkman for NUR351. But we can still be here for questions and support, I just had my second little one born 10/15 so encouragement would be a big push! I know I can do this but always nice to have others going through the same in your corner! Here's to an awesome year back at the books!
After some trial and error; I'd recommend two classes a semester. Of course that depends on what your schedule is like. For example, I'm single and work full time, so it is pretty manageable for me. If possible, bang out the "liberal-artsy" classes first. Those writing, math, economics, and statistic courses will make you crack your neck (figuratively of course). But in the same vein (how punny)...don't overload yourself. At the end of the day it's better to pass with at least a "C", than running a marathon that you can't win.

Congrats on the new little one. I'm working full time, so I'm doing 2 classes per semester. My advisor said that our classes will open up on Dec. 28th, so we can get a one week head start. I'm off Dec. 30th-Jan 7th, so that will give me a good bit of time to work ahead.
Nice to know we're in this together :)
Hey I'm doing 2 classes per 8 week session. Unfortunately l I haven't been able to be registered yet until my advisor comes back on Monday the 28th for preview week though she told me the classes I will be taking. I need to know what classes are good to be paired together. Trying to obtain my BSN before the end of next year

Hi!!
I'm starting the RN to BSN online program January 4, 2016. First class is NUR351. I was wanting to reach out and see if any others would be starting this course at the same time. I thought it would be nice hearing from fellow classmates and getting to know one another so we could discuss course and future school plans to help encourage one another! Look forward to hearing from you!!
