I wonder what you all think about an RN looking for work and placing an ad on craigslist?

Is it an okay way to let employers know that an RN is looking?

Or is it tacky or unprofessional?

Just wondering. I want to look for a part time job in a very specific area of nursing in a very specific area and was thinking about doing this as not all employers advertise their openings and I'm way too busy to drive around the county stopping into places.

I frequently see job postings there but never have I seen job seekers posting their availability.

I want them to find me. Sounds crazy, I know.

Reputable facilities are not going to be looking there.

You would be much better off posting your resume at a place that employers are going to use that you would be interested in.

You can even post it here in the resume section.

Craig's list does not count towards posting of a job offer, when dealing with immigration.

If you post your resume on monster.com, they will come.

suzanne is 100% correct.

there are no screening tools to deter any suspicious inquiries.

any reputable employer would not opt to use craigslist.

here in boston, we have bostonworks.com, which generates a wonderful audience of potential employers and employees.

perhaps your city has something comparable?

best of luck to you!

In AZ we have http://www.jobing.com, I'm pretty sure it's in Cali as well. It's a regional site that lots of our local facilities use. You may want to check that out instead.

Isn't craigslist great though??!

Thanks very much for the replies. What you all write is just as I suspected.

I might try monster and I think our local newpaper has a resume posting tool as well.

I got such a great response to a yard sale I put on craigslist, I thought well.....LOL!!!!

Silly me.
