Riverside School of Health Careers RN program

Hello everyone!

I am looking for current, past, and even prospective students for Riverside's RN program. I will be applying for the September 2013 professional nursing program. For current or past students, what was your GPA and teas score? Also how was the program, instructors, clinicals? I did attend the last open house in December and I was hoping that a student or recent grad would be there to talk about their experience. I love how the instructors seem to be really supportive and the small campus also appealed to me. To other prospective students what start date are you applying to and do you have any other nursing/healthcare experience? Any advice or other information on the program is greatly appreciated! :up:

I will be so excited if I get in too. Probably will walk/ride around with the letter just so I can pull it out and show EVERYONE I know, lol.

I will literally jump up and down! Haha. It will be the best feeling ever. And yes, thank you so much! I hope you find a really good daycare that is affordable. Do you think you will specialize in pediatrics?

I get that question a lot, Peds is definitely an interest of mine. Kids are so funny and a lot of them are so much tougher than adults when it comes to getting treatment. But on the top of my "wishlist" is the oh so popular, L&D/mother baby then next is NICU. I know my interests may change once we have our clinical rotations besides I'll definitely be that new grad that will take anything that is offered. :) What specialties are you interested in?

I've been thinking peds! But..like you said I'm not putting myself in a box, because I know I will find out what I like when doing clinicals. I used to want to be a nurse anesthetist but I have changed my mind because I know I will have to take a lot of chemistry and I really hate chemistry. I also want to be able to deal with patients a lot and not just put them to sleep. The one thing, I think I won't want to do is geriatrics, but who knows! If I get accepted to Sentara then I am thinking about going through the navy

I emailed the admissions lady today and asked if she had a better idea of when letters will be going out and she said, "They are going out this week! :)" OH MY GOSH this made my day. This means we should know next week!!!!!!

I was literally ONE DAY away from applying to this program. If I didn't get my acceptance letter to my first choice school, I had my appplication all ready for Riverside and was planning to drive there and drop it off the next day. But, I got my letter for RCC so I didn't apply at Riverside. I hope you guys get in, you seem like you will be great!

I'm going to be such a happy person for the rest of the week! Then if she sends it before Friday I may get my letter sometime this week. I will be stalking the mail starting Thursday!

I talked to the recruiter also and he said that it normally is about a week mail time, so depending on what day she sends them out we may not know until next Friday. He did say that he thinks I will be "pleasantly surprised." I feel like that was a really good thing!!!
