Hello I wanted to start a thread for RCC Nursing Spring 2015!!!!! Anyone that will be applying to the program for spring 2015 lets get together to chat and support each other through this process!!!!! Good Luck everyone!!! Hope to see u guys in class next spring!!!:)

Ok so I received my drug screening results and my background check. For those of you wondering they are reported together. I received my background check through email and it included my drug screening results. My drug screening results were super fast. I went yesterday at 4:00 and I had results this morning. Looks like my background check was just waiting for my drug screen info. Does anyone know if the health office at rcc is open on Friday?

Did you have on all Black? I did not see the shirt. I figured you were Black like me but I was not about to approach every Black lady asking them if they were RN2B on all nurses. Really if that was you then why you didn't say somthing LoL? I was in the front row.

The book store is open today. I went and picked up the Spanish book. It was 132.00 for a little thin book. They have a book for the success in nursing class too. It's 70.00 at the book store. I found it on Amazon used for 19.00. I was gonna wait to see if they were gonna cancel the class again before I got it but the reviews said its a good book to just read. So even if they do I will just keep it.

Mindy I don't know what's gonna happen. I had folks telling me that they got in with 70 points and not during the lottery either. I just prayed about it and will keep in Gods hands. Of course that is not fair but when I asked him about it of course he said that was not true. I don't want to start anything so I just let it go. He gave everyone at intake the acceptance form except for me. Oh well, just make sure you guys get comfy shoes that will last.

I'm pretty much done, just need to get my 2nd tb test read on Friday (: Has anyone purchased the books? Ive only gotten 2 of them from half.com....reading research and contemporary nursing

Are you buying all the books now? Didn't they say that the bundle will be good for the first year?

Mindy, according to the first week's schedule alone, getting the Lippincott bundle ($639.50) won't cover all required books for the Spring semester. For example, the first book listed in the first week's required reading is Contemporary Nursing (Cherry & Jacob), which is not in the bundle.

I wish $639.50 was the total cost for all required textbooks, but it's definitely in the ballpark of $1,000 at least. :( :scrying: :cry:

I'm curious as well mindy77 on what books to purchase first, or if we definitely need all right now by the first day of school.
