Hello I wanted to start a thread for RCC Nursing Spring 2015!!!!! Anyone that will be applying to the program for spring 2015 lets get together to chat and support each other through this process!!!!! Good Luck everyone!!! Hope to see u guys in class next spring!!!:)
There are two classes offered during the winter session NXN-84 and NXN-78. Anyone taking classes this winter session? I plan on taking NXN-78. In the past I think the class has been canceled due to low enrollment. Hopefully that will not happen this winter session. I think it will be beneficial for me to get a head start on the pharm math, because math is so not my best subject!
On a side note when I looked yesterday there were only 3 spots left in the NXN-84 class. That one always seems to fill up pretty quick. Well any who Good Luck spring 2015 applicants!!

Well my registration date for the Winter session is not until next week Monday. I will be registering for a foreign language just in case I don't get in for the Spring. That way I can apply and get extra points for the Fall. I am praying that I get in. I have a book called math for nurses that I am working out of. Those three spots will be gone by next week LoL.
Hi guys! I'm still here waiting;-/ I keep hearing about these classes. Do you think they're really that beneficial? I kind of just want to relax and spend as much time with my family as I can before we start the program. I know nursing school is going to take over our lives. I already missed my kids just thinking about how busy my life is about to get:( Plus we're going to get reading assignments before our classes actually start. Well that's if we get accepted.

Mindy don't stress! It is a personal choice. For me I know one of my weakest subjects is math so I would like to take to the dosage calculation class to get a head start. Hopefully it will not be canceled due to low enrollment.
I understand how u feel about wanting to have more time with the family. I have a newborn just 8 weeks old. When we start school he will be almost 4 months. I am already feeling guilty about how much time I am not going to spend with him due to nursing school. But I think about how much this is going to impacts his future because I will be able to give him a good life style. When we are done with school he will be 2 and all I can think about is having that first Christmas with him as an RN with RN money!!!! That alone give me joy and motivates me to get pass these 2 years that are ahead!!!! I just want the best for my son and that is my motivation!! For me the short term sacrifice is worth the long term benefits!! So again its ur choice!! What is best for you and your family!!! Don't stress!!! We have 2 years of that to come my dear!! lol

Yes I agree with everything you said. My boys are also motivating me to finish even though they are older. I have a 17 yr old that will be a senior next year. I want to finish school so I can help him to get started on his pre- nursing courses, and start to being a young adult.
Yeah I know those spots will be gone. I plan on enrolling in the dosage calculations class. For me that will be more helpful. My registration date is not till the 27th. Good luck I really hope you get in Queen!!
My God I try not to think about it and keep believing God that I will get in. I emailed them again today hoping they would tell me that they are sending the letters out sooner. Also if they knew what the cutoff is. The date is still December the 5th. They don't know what the cutoff is as of yet.
Yes I agree with everything you guys said as well. I'm lucky my boys are a little older 13 and 10. They do a lot for themselves. I know I'll have to sacrifice my time with them, but I know it will be worth it!! So Queen the dates still the 5th. I hope they are accurate with that date. I can't wait much longer!! I'm worried about the math too. I'm pretty good at basic math. I'm more worried about having that on top of everything else. I'm sure a lot of it is memorization. For example you have to use a certain equation for a certain unit. Like if your using a liquid medication you have to use a certain formula to figure out how much of that medication you give to the patient. But I think the math is fairly simple (at least I'm hoping). It's just being certain what formula to use for a IV, liquid,pill... etc. If the class is full I'm sure you can learn by yourself online. Start to memorize your unit conversions such as mass, volume, and time.
