Hello I wanted to start a thread for RCC Nursing Spring 2015!!!!! Anyone that will be applying to the program for spring 2015 lets get together to chat and support each other through this process!!!!! Good Luck everyone!!! Hope to see u guys in class next spring!!!:)

Did you fill out a FASFA? You could get a fee waiver. I don't know about if I have any FA left. I have been in school a long time. I am only a few credits away from getting my BA in Psychology. I stopped Because I love nursing and decided on becoming a Psych Nurse Practitioner instead of psychologist. You can go to student health and get your physical and shots there. I read in the last thread it cost a bit over 200.00. Even with FA we won't get it right away so just get about 2000 by the end of next month I'm guessing. I heard book are almost 700.00, Uniforms, supplies, and 450 on ATI. I get a fee waiver.

Hey Queen you can always appeal the financial aid. That's what I'm going to have to do as well. I already have an associates degree and a lot of units. I think everyone in the program who gets FA will have to appeal at some point because your only allowed a certain amount of units at a community college. Just getting your general ed takes up most if not all of those units. I'm going to apply if I get in. I'm just not sure if I need to wait until I actually get accepted because they ask you how many units your taking and if your in a program. So there's questions I can't answer until I'm actually in. I was still thinking I should apply anyway to prevent more of a delay since most likely I'll have to appeal which is going to delay my process anyways.

Anne I'm not offended by your points lol!! Maybe a little jealous haha jk!! If I had 95 points I'd be screaming at the top of my lungs!! Good job you deserve bragging rights . Hard work pays off. Let me be the first to congratulate you on getting into the program. With 95 points you will get in. If they make a mistake for some reason you can always call them and they are good at fixing it if it's their fault.

So classes start in February right?

Yes Mindy fill out your FASFA. You get a fee waiver right? Some folks can also borrow from there 401K to pay for school. Then if you get FA you can replace it with that. So much is up in the air until we know if we are in or not. I don't like waiting to the last min to get stuff done.

Yes early February but from what I have read we have to get cleared before we register for classes.

Yes I get the fee waiver. I moved in with my brother to save money. He's letting me live with him rent free until I'm finished with school. Money is going to be the biggest struggle for me these next two years. But it will be worth it.

Ya we have to have our vaccines and background checks all in order. I'll have to get all my shots again. I lost my records. Do you have a place in mind to do your CPR? I have my card but it will expire 6/16. Does it have to be CPR and first aide or just CPR?

That is a blessing Mindy to live rent free. Anyway we will learn are status soon. It just seems like forever. As far as the CPR I got this number from the other thread Life Link CPR 951-346-6607. I think they said it cost 50.00, but that was a year ago.

Cool thank you!!

Your welcome. Are you going to take the drug class in the Winter? I am going to register for it as well as the Spanish course. If I get in I will drop the Spanish course and just take the Drug calculations class. If I don't get in then I will drop the drug calculations course and just take the Spanish course. It's a 5 unit class. That seems like a lot for six weeks. Were the books expensive for the Spanish class?

I was thinking about taking the dosage class but I didn't apply for the winter semester only the Spring. I'd have to submit a application for the winter. When does the class start? And what are the days and times? I took Spanish a long time ago so I don't remember the cost. But I'm pretty sure we had to get two books a work book and another book. You can probably find them on amazon. I took it at SBVC and it was 5 units. The class is a lot of work, and somewhat difficult but that's because there's a lot of material to cover. It's not nearly as hard as the science courses we had to take so you'll do fine. And they don't look at your grade for that class just that you took it. So you can get a C and it wont matter.
