Riverside Community College Nursing Spring 2014

Published

Hello everyone. I just wanted to start the thread for all the new applicants of RCC's Nursing Program for Spring 2014. This thread is to help each other stay current with old and new information about the program. Share your thoughts about the application process, teas V preparation, acceptance, and support group. Let the applications begin!!

I took the practice exam and got 50% in all sections :( i'm doooooomed!

Culli005, what kind of stethoscope did you buy for the program?

What kind of stethoscope did you buy for the program? I was looking into buying a littman classic II SE? Thanks!

I personally used a Littman. RCC's Student Nurse Organization sells awesome stethoscopes!! Comparable and I thought better than the Littman. You get a plane stethoscope in your supply bag but I couldn't hear a thing out of it!

Do you think it's better to wait and get one from the student nurse union then the littman?

Hi Bigota, does it have anything like what we study from the study manual? It makes me even more nervous now:(

Unfortunately, the study guide will not help us for the Science section. :nailbiting:

exam is this Friday and i'm freaking out.

In the science section, I would look for more details for things like DNA/RNA, autotroph/heterotroph, isotopes, fungi, algae. Be able to say if a compound is polar/nonpolar, what is more electronegative, etc. These were some of the things that I studied outside the ATI book because the practice tests asked for more details than what was covered in the book. If you recently took anatomy and physiology, you should be good because that was pretty basic. There is a thread on this site that helped a lot. Search "How I Studied for the TEAS 5... HTH

"

I know most of you are taking your TEAS test shortly and are studying. Good luck on your testing. How did it go and how do you feel now that the testing is over?

Good luck everyone! TEAS V is tomorrow! Study Hard!!!

How did everyone do on the Teas today? Im totally screwed it. Only got 73%. Luckily, with my high GPA, bilingual, and special circumstances, it get me to the total of 85pts. Keep my fingers crossed and good luck to us all!
