i've heard a lot about ccconline, but not a lot about rio salado. if you have taken a&p and/or microbiology online thru rio salado, i'd like to hear about your experiences.
thank you,

i took rio's online 4 credit human bioloy course. it was a tough course but i got an a but let me tell you i earned that grade. lots of info to learn. i am currently enrolled in rio's a&p i and so far it been ok.
there is so much information to try to absorb in such a short amount of time. i would imagine all the a&p courses are pretty intense whether online or not.
i would recommend rio's online courses, but like many online courses, they are subject to technical difficulties.
good luck

I took Dev Psy through CCConline. My daughter took A&P I last semester and II this semester through Rio Salado. It is a LOT of work but she passed.
As mona b mentioned, it is not without it's share of technical difficulties.

I'm currently taking Rio's Human Biology (which instructor did you have, Mona?) and will be taking Micro this summer and A&P this fall, also through Rio. I really enjoy it. You have to be more self-motivated for online courses than in-class ones, IMO.
I had Mr Dobrin; he was a very fair instructor. I had to take the human bio before they would let me take their online A&P. I went with Rio because of the frequent class starts.
Good Luck

I called Rio Salado and they told me that I would have to go to Arizona in order to complete the Micro lab and so that didn't work for me. I don't know if that has changed since then but that was the case when I called them a couple of months ago.

That doesn't sound right. I know it's true for Chemistry because there are 3-4 in-person labs that you have to attend. But Micro is TOTALLY distance - at no time do you have to go on campus.

so i'm back looking at ccc - they seem more amenable to waiving that pre-req.
i spoke to them yesterday and they indicated all the labs are online. the rub right now is that they won't accept my passing grade on the ap biology exam from 1991 as meeting the general biology pre-req for micro. i'd have to go to arizona to test out of general biology or otherwise they'll make me take the general biology before micro. i don't have time for all that...so i'm back looking at ccc - they seem more amenable to waiving that pre-req.topcat
they did the same thing to me. they wouldn't accept my 6 credits of a&p through ec as the prerequisite for their a&p. i think they are way too tough on the prereq's. if i didn't need the flexibility of their frequent course starts, i would have never done the human bio.
i guess they make lotsa money that way.
