Rio Hondo College?

U.S.A. California

There isn't much new information about this school on these boards, so I am wondering if there are any current students of this school that can share their experiences, class schedule, difficulty, clinical sites, resources, etc...

And has anyone else applied for the Fall 11' class ?

@LarryZ: I do not think the school charges to take the TEAS. I was not charged at my prior school when I took it for my LVN and there is nothing in the acceptance letter that states we need to bring money to pay for it. When the school opens back up next week I will ask about it when I call to accept my spot in the LVN-ADN class.

I got in to College of the Canyons so I will be giving up my spot on Monday!! good luck to you all!!

Congrats MPETRIDES1984! So do you live in the AV? I live in Lancaster and do not want to wait for AVC's 3 semester wait and I heard it was at least 2 for COC. My parents live in Cerritos so I will be staying with them about 3 days a week while I attend RHC. Whatever I gotta do to get the RN, I'm gonna do it! Good luck to you at COC!

No I don't live in the AV but I go there a lot. My bf lives in Palmdale so I'm up there on the weekends. I don't think COC has a wait list, I just applied for the first time and got in! I also just found it I got into a school in Visalia, College of the Sequoias!

Has anyone registered? Are you ready for orientation?

@ronniedita i also received the email and i will definately be at orientation! see ya there!

Specializes in Cardiac.

RHC does not, or didn't when I took it, charge for TEAS. You have to go to their skills lab next to the main nursing offices during your scheduled time to take the TEAS.

@NurseJacqpott When you said orientation.. are you referring that to the ADN 151 program? or the information session? I got in to the ADN program, but I am really confused where to go from here. I already mailed in my packet that has immunization records, physical examination, etc. but I am not sure what the next step is.

Hope to hear from you soon, thanks :)

Did you go through Certified Profile and upload your documents there? I don't believe you're supposed to mail it in... I spoke to them today and they said they will be clearing students this week and we should get an email by next week with our CRN number to register.

I saw that one needs to take ADN 151 pre-requisite in summer or spring before applying? This is kind of different. My kid is finishing up her last pre-req at CSULB and want to apply her as well. So I guess one must take ADN 151 before being accepted to their ADN program? Not sure how it works? Did you apply to ADN first before taking ADN 151?

Did you have to complete ADN 151 at the time before eligible to apply to ADN? Not sure how this will work for non-Rio Hondo candidate who getting ready to apply?

Sorry didn't mean to ask the same questions.
