Rio Hondo College Spring 2023 ADN Program

Updated:   Published

Hi, I haven't seen a post about this application round yet. I thought I would make one so we can share our stats and share any updates from Rio Hondo.

I applied to both the regular ADN program and LVN-RN program. I really hope this is my last time applying.

My stats:

4.0 science GPA

3.3-ish general GPA

84.7% TEAS

Experience: 50hrs volunteering, 500hrs work experience as a CNA, work experience 150+hrs as an LVN

2 life experiences

Bachelors degree

I haven’t heard anything yet either!

I called the school and they said for LVN-ADN it should be end of October. If you don’t hear anything they said to call. I didn’t get to ask how though. I think they call us?

I just emailed asking if I could get a timeline of when we should get any status updates, I'll let y'all know when I get a response!

I think they said end of October, but when I called last week they said they’re still reviewing the applications and they got about 400. They’re not sure how many lvns they’re going to take yet

400? I think that's a lot more than usual, that's crazy.

I heard that about more than half of the regular ADN students have failed out meaning they will be selecting more lvn's than usual. I hope this is true and we hear something soon. I applied to the generic and vn - RN. I have only been a lvn for about a year but still hoping I somehow manage to get accepted.

? this makes me sad… I mean I’m happy for the lvns but I really wanted to get in as a regular ADN student

That's really sad for those students who dropped out ? But really do hope they accept a large amount of LVNs. I wish they had a group of just LVNs with a program designed for them because it will help the success of the student and help get more nurses out there.

I know. I thought to myself, dang this program must be tough. It is indeed good news for the LVN's though. I agree though. Just 2 semesters for VN - RN though.

Hey y'all. I applied to the Bridge as well. These are my stats:

TEAS Score 80%

GPA 3.7

LVN experience 3 years, CNA experience 2.5 years

AA in Life Sciences

and no I haven't received any updates. Hoping to get into the bridge!
