Hello. I haven't seen a thread for Rio Hondo ADN Spring 2024 applicants so I made one for anyone else who is applying and has questions or wants to keep in touch for the application process.
Best of luck to everyone!
I created a FB group for us! Here is the link:

If given spot, I'll just take the opportunity because nursing programs are highly competitive.
Congrats to those who got accepted; and good luck and wish everyone best. Those who haven't heard back, don't lose hope, there are still chances of you getting in. Take any opportunity that is given to you cause you never know this your way to your success ❤️
Does anyone know how many alternate spots there are and the likelihood of being accepted?
Hi everyone,
I have been notified this morning that I have been accepted as an Alternate for the ADN program. I have actually applied for both Rio Hondo LVN & ADN program for Spring 2024 and got accepted for the LVN program but rejected for the ADN program back in October. I have been working on the requirements for the LVN program and completed most of the Castle Branch requirements by now, so it came as a surprise that I got accepted as an alternate for the ADN program. Now I have to make a decision on whether to stay in LVN program or move onto ADN as an alternate since they don't allow me to hold on to both spots. This is a difficult decision to make for me so I wanted to get some opinions from you guys. Kindly share your thoughts about what you would do in this situation. Thank you.

Congratulations, first of all! That's all great news! Honestly it's a tough decision, and ultimately you'll have to do what feels right. I'm imagining that they might make you pay for castle branch all over again etc etc. But more than that you're giving up a sure thing for a maybe. I can say for sure the alternate list is moving, myself as well as several alternates have heard back recently about moving up. But you also have to consider with the recent offer you may be pretty low on the alternate list. I would say make a list with pros and cons, and trust your gut!
