Hello. I haven't seen a thread for Rio Hondo ADN Spring 2024 applicants so I made one for anyone else who is applying and has questions or wants to keep in touch for the application process.
Best of luck to everyone!

I would say so, I mean, they're only looking to make sure you're getting started on the Castle branch steps, but don't wait until the very last minute because the uniforms do take a while to come in and you never know! I remember from when I did the CNA program at Rio, we had to get the same uniform and the orders took anywhere from 2-4 weeks. The books can wait until the week before class if anything because the bookstore is usually good at getting those orders together.

does anyone know how many days in a week students are going to be in class? And from what time to does class start and ends?
I have to inform my supervisor soon so I can transition from full time to part time employee
I was looking at the class schedules from previous semesters and it looks like anywhere from 3-4 days a week, including both clinical and theory. I think they'll tell us more at orientation. Does anybody know when we might get an email for it?
Anyone purchased or began uploading their documents on Castle Branch?
I have heard mixed reviews about Castle Branch and how they take forever to approve documents. I'm feeling anxious now because my physical exam is not until Nov 21 and I'm scared that Castle branch is not going to approve it on time

I honestly don't know how they determine which documents get approved and how long for each. I began on Thursday, and I uploaded my CPR,BLS license, and my Covid vaccination on the same day, the BLS was approved the next day, the Covid vaccination is still pending approval. Don't stress too much just do everything as soon as you can.
I'm sure as long as it's uploaded before the deadline, they will make note of that, and take that into consideration
I had a feeling the process would be this frustrating and that's why as soon as I applied for the program, I made my appointment for my physical, especially because if they do the Tithers and realize you don't have immunity to hepB, chicken pox etc, you have to go through a whole process to get the vaccines all over again. I would call your clinic and see if they could do the bloodwork ahead of time.
I started doing my CB things as well. Uploaded my covid vaccines, Tdap, BLS, and flu (all in process). I think my background check has come back already. My physical wasn't until November 8 but I kept checking for sooner appointments and got one for next week, and I am getting my drug test done that same day as well. Maybe call and see if you can move it up or see a different provider? I also just drove to RH to drop off my social security card. Would anyone be open to joining a FB group so we can keep in touch through the process on there? I don't know if there are many of us but hopefully we get more as we get closer ?
