Rio Hondo College ADN Spring 2024

Published

Hello. I haven't seen a thread for Rio Hondo ADN Spring 2024 applicants so I made one for anyone else who is applying and has questions or wants to keep in touch for the application process.
Best of luck to everyone!

For those who have been accepted can I ask what your GPA, and TEAS score is looking like?

My science and overall GPA are 3.67 and my TEAS score is 80.7.

This was my first time applying to community college nursing programs. I had previously applied to APU's LVN to RN bridge program, but I didn't have much work experience as an LVN at the time. I now have 1,000 + hours of full-time work as an LVN, which gave me some much-needed points. My science GPA is 3.93, and my overall GPA is 3.66. My TEAS score is 86.7%

I also applied to 8 different schools (PCC-LVN to RN and ADN, Glendale CC, LAVC, LACC, ELAC, College of the Canyons, and Rio Hondo), and I was rejected from PCC's LVN to RN bridge program with 85 points (too many qualified applicants and not enough spots was what they said). Rio Hondo was the second school that I've heard back from.

thank you! I have lost hope that ill be accepted. I haven't received an acceptance or alternate letter. My stats are 3.5 GPA cumulative, 3.6 science with a 77 on my TEAS. I also have my AA in natural sciences. Im sad bc I don't have any medical experience which is what I believe hurts me In the end. Thank you for your feedback!

Don't get discouraged, apply to LACCD schools, if you meet chancellor cutscore they'll put you into lottery system. There are a few schools that don't look at experience but as long as you meet the minimum requirement you have a chance of getting selected.

FYI, LACC application is open until October 20 and cutscore is 80%. Counselor informed me that if you have a straight B both cumulative and science GPA it's equivalent to 80% with a passing score for TEAS (62%)!

Those who were given an alternate spot, please check your emails today.

I received an email this morning that my application has been moved up to "Provisionally Accepted" to the program.

Nothing yet, you must've been high up on the alternate list and somebody originally accepted may have declined. congratulations!

Same! It's taking everything in me to not call and ask what number I am on the list LOL. trying to stay positive and let go of the things I have no control over!

Thank you ❤️
Just look out for email this, they're only giving 1 day to response, so if someone don't receive a respond, they'll give the spot to another alternate. If someone drop during admission process they'll give to an alternate.

I have friend from RH and said some alternates went through the background check and submitted required documents. Few dropped during the admission procedure because another school accepted them. And their spot was giving to alternates.

Hang in there everyone, don't lose hope

Does anyone have any idea of whether the orientation will be online or in-person and when it most likely will happen?

Looking back at past forums, it seems like orientation was held over Zoom at the end of October.

Has anyone received the email from Castle Branch yet?
