Hello. I haven't seen a thread for Rio Hondo ADN Spring 2024 applicants so I made one for anyone else who is applying and has questions or wants to keep in touch for the application process.
Best of luck to everyone!

I'm still waiting for the castle branch email as well. I'll notify the thread when I receive it!
Has anyone applied elsewhere? I applied to a few other programs because I was afraid I wasn't going to get in anywhere.

I did, also worried I wasn't going to get in anywhere. However, RH was the first to send out acceptances, so I'll probably just stick with it because I'm actually from out of LA and will have to start making arrangements to move into the city very soon. I'm so excited!

Same! And makes sense for you since you need to make moving arrangements and waiting for other responses will take away precious time to make those arrangements if toy end up needing to! I'm so so grateful and excited too! Can't wait to hear about our next steps and looking forward to the orientation! ????

I applied to 7 or 8 schools because nursing program in SoCal are so competitive to get in. I've applied to LACCD schools but I'm anxious because they're lottery based system.
I applied to Mt. Sac but was not offered to take TEAS which automatically informed me that I was not selected.
Hopefully we all get a spot

If given spot, I'll just take the opportunity because nursing programs are highly competitive.
Congrats to those who got accepted; and good luck and wish everyone best. Those who haven't heard back, don't lose hope, there are still chances of you getting in. Take any opportunity that is given to you cause you never know this your way to your success ❤️
can I ask what your stats are?

Yess, same! I was reading so many posts about how hard it is to get in. And how many people have had to reapply several semesters in a row before getting on somewhere, so I casted a wide net when I applied. I applied to 7/8 schools as well! I think you have a great chance of getting in as an alternate, or getting in anywhere else you've applied. And yes, I'm wishing everyone the best, wish everyone gets on somewhere! ?

I think it could just mean that once it expires, they will have to be reevaluated again to determine whether or not they still qualify for candidacy. I read that the other day too and was wondering if that could potentially have a negative intact on the student's in the program at that time, but I think Rio has good NCLEX passing rates and educational qualifications that will allow them to qualify again for candidacy ?

My stats weren't as great as others. I have a bachelor degree in child development from CSUN; my cumulative GPA was 3.5 and my Science Pre req GPA was 3.7. I passed the TEAS with 76% on first attempt.
I also worked 1 year as an ABA therapist and currently working as a Pediatric health coordinator at a clinic.

I have an A.S. degree, science GPA is 3.7, general ED GPA is either a 3.6 or 3.7 (I forgot), TEAS score is 87.3%, I have clinical experience from volunteering in a hospital, and more patient experience from working front desk at doctor's offices.

thank you! I have lost hope that ill be accepted. I haven't received an acceptance or alternate letter. My stats are 3.5 GPA cumulative, 3.6 science with a 77 on my TEAS. I also have my AA in natural sciences. Im sad bc I don't have any medical experience which is what I believe hurts me In the end. Thank you for your feedback!
