I am a lefty and I can spell (most of the time!) Is there supposed to be some kind of correlation between handedness and spelling?
BTW, fellow lefties may be interested in this book:
The Left-Hander Syndrome: The Causes and Consequences of Left-Handedness by Stanley Coren
Some of the science is flawed but there is a lot of interesting stuff to think about in there, including theories about why lefties have more accidents and have shorter life spans.
OOh, here's something cool to think about. My grandfather had this great trick he used to do at parties. He could write two completely different sentences at the same time, using each hand! They were legible, too! And no, it wasn't always the same sentences, so not a matter of having practiced for years. He would have someone say a sentence in one ear and someone else say another in the other ear and he'd write them both at the same time! I've NEVER seen anyone who could do that before. I'm sure THAT would have blown a few minds!
I'm a righty and have always been able to spell really well. I'm in school still and this summer (after only one year of school) a nurse in my psych clinical asked how to spell guaifenesin and I was able to spell it. Don't know why, but the way things (and names) are spelled just sticks with me.

OK let's see who can spell and who can't spell.
