retrogression in this october again???

i just saw the good news in july's visa bulletin. Congradulations to all of us!! I have a question to ask here. According to the hospital immigtration attorney, my petition I140 will file in early July. However, some people here said, the retrogression will come back in October. I have started worrying about my case already. I140 normally takes 3 months to approve. But if retrogression comes back at that time, I wonder what will happen to my case? Any comments??

Retrogression is no longer a question, as Suzanne stated: it has never been lifted, it has always been there. Watch it smash all premature celebrations this first week of July, as a virtual tsunami of applications for AOS slam into the immigration offices. :lol2:

Those going thru Consular Processing and those going thru Adjustment of Status use two different procedures entirely. Only the I-140 is the same and that is not affected by the retrogression now, and never has been in the past. It has always been accepted.

And as we have been saying, if not already in line for a visa with a complete file already accepted and just waiting for a green card, this really does not change things for many that are under process. Until there is a specific category for nurses separate from the others as in the past, the retrogression is not over and has not been since last fall.

Many were getting excited when they had never even had the I-140 petition submitted thinking that this meant that everything was open up for them, and they are being shown that now. The I-140 has always been accepted and not under the retrogression, though many employers have stated otherwise, as well as immigration attorneys. This a matter that you need to discuss with them, not the fault of the US government.

Hi agp_ph. No updates but I already sent last week my updated DS230 forms and I read from the other thread (NVC-CP-GC) that you sent yours also. May I know if you also just sent DS230 and not all the previous atttachments we mailed last year before we were "case "completed"? Those were all that was asked of me by agency. I haven't actually seen the official letter mailed by NVC this June regarding updating though I got same message from NVC e-mail & automated voice system...Hope we make it this year!

Hi Mariel7, I sent also police clearance and NBI clerance together with my DS 230. My lawyer said to send them because last year's clearances are already expired.
