Hi Guys!

I've been checking this forum for the longest time but I never posted.Thank you for the infos and inspiration btw.I just took NCLEX yesterday and it was brutal.I stopped at 153 and unfortunately no good pop up for me???.I cried, bawled and still sigh when I woke up awhile ago.I have to admit,I got 49's -72's-64's-59's on my KAPLAN tests.I rushed into it all,I've been out of the practice (2009/Philippines),migrated here (2011)graduated year(2006)and raising a very audacious 2y/0 and a stay at home mommy.I'm really doubting myself if I'll still pursue nursing, but It's my first LOVE and I can't see myself with another course❤️

So sorry for the lengthy intro,I guess i needed to vent out too☺️??!Guys,I'll give NCLEX one more shot!I KNOW GOD IS IN CONTROL and one take won't break me.I've lasted too long to give up now!

I took KAPLAN ON DEMAND mainly for the qbanks.I think I need CORE CONCEPTS and Strategies at the same time.I cannot afford KAPLAN anymore but want to venture out to other reviewers/books.I'm seeing HURST,Ati,Saunders on this forum?Which do you think would fit well for me and my needs?Thank you guys in advance and GOD BLESS each and everyone. From one sad but determined momma????

Hi,

I just graduated n took my Nclex they pushed a lot of Ati on us but I used Saunders you can do the pretest to see where you at and they give you a study guide of chapters to focus on! I also did a lot of question reading the rationales and understanding them etc. Index cards for Lab values and Pharm which is very important.

Good Luck and don't give up..

hello kabayan,. don't feel upset about it,., may susunod pa namn,. just continue reviewing,, just recently took my exam too,. last march 15 of this year and in god's grace i passed at 75 which I didn't expect cause i felt terrible after the exam,., and here's my tip .,study the concept,., and i highly recommend the saunder's comprehensive book,., as much as possible read from cover to cover,., do all the Q&A's and on the later part of your review if your scheduled appointment is near, read the kaplan strategy.. piece of advice, as much as possible don't rely much on the strategy, what I'm saying is it's better for you to know the concept and just strategies if the question given is out of the world concept, like you haven't encountered or read during your review cause we all admit it, we don't know everything,., and yup, just use 1-2 references so you won't confuse yourself,. best of luck kabayan! wag susuko,., you are destined to be a NURSE here in the USA,., and believe on that! GOD BLESS YOU!! :)

Thank you so much for taking the time.It really means a lot!

I think I'll get Saunders. What edition did you use?Thank you and Godbless K.W~Lpn

Hello, Thank you for your post :) I will be sitting the NCLEX a 2nd time soon (American, but foreign trained graduated 2005 :-0). I was referred to Sally Lagerquist at nursing review. She helps foreign trained nurses prepare for the NCLEX exam, also repeat test takers. She has a special for 150.00 through April 30th. She can tell you where you should begin based on your situation. Not sure if it is helpful, I just bought it myself yesterday. Commit to study and prayer, give the rest to God. It will be difficult looking after your precious 2 year old and committing to NCLEX, but you can do it with prioritizing ;) I know you can do it :)

Well I will be retaking my nclex-pn in a few months. For me I will be force on questions for sure. I knew everything on the test but I just didn't know how to apply it to the questions. I don't have any money for any review myself, but I will be doing questions .When I got my results I had a lot of near passing levels, and only one below level. Which I have been studying hard. If someone pays someone to review make sure you get your money worth. I have a few friends whom did the Kaplan paid over $400 and still failed but RN and LPN test. Good luck..

Thank you K.W~Lpn❤️Godbless
