Moved to a thread on it's own.

Starting point would be deciding which province you want to live and work in, research the job situation for the province and then apply to the provincial College of RN and meet their requirements. Then once you have met requirements and given the OK to sit Canadian exam look for employer. You can also go to the CIC website and look at what route you plan on using that allows you to live and work in Canada

There are 1,000 slots for federal skilled workers for the profession of Nursing. However one requirement is the WES so that your credentials can be validated.

Just a word of warning though, for most international nurses that went to their own universities/colleges and graduated in a four year bachelor degree their credentials came back as two year diploma course.

Hi there :)

Is the two year diploma course then classed as an enrolled nurse and not an RN?

Canada doesn't have ENs we have LPNs. Two+ years at college (education and work placements). All areas of nursing are covered.

Have a look around the Canadian forum for more information

To the OP and others interested with going into Canada, do so very quickly!! Word has it that Canada plans to STOP taking new applications in the very near future, the doors will be closing.

The provincial colleges of nursing are not taking applications as of Aug 12,2014 but all IEN applicants will be referred to a central agency similar to APHRA for Australia
