Hi everyone just a quick word to let you know that Adevia Healthcare told me that you can be either adult or child trained but as long as you are in an acute or emergency setting you can relocate fairly easily, they provide a service at around £600 this secures you a job aswell, they are online! If anyone has relocated to illinois can you let me know please as this is where my hubby and I wish to go, thanks Shelly.

this really surprises me as US training is generic where UK is specialised and the training at present doesn't have enough hours in mental health, paeds, general adult and maternity to cover working in the US. The best way to see if you are covered is doing a CES with CGFNS once you qualified. There are many who have either just qualified or presently training who find that they can't move to the US cos they don't meet criteria

I would tread very carefully before you pay your money, do your own research. I am working here in US and there is nobody here who wasn't generalised trained and then specialised post grad.
Thanks for replying, I will check this out very carefully. I thought this was slightly strange but assumed that there must be some way to get through , the woman was so sure and the company checked out okay with the checks that I did. How on earth do you get in to the US with a BN hons, do either of you know if you can carry on to take postgrad courses in mental health and child health or do you have to start at all over again, if that was the case you would be an RN in three fields , aswell as it all taking about nine years you would be better going to med school!
Can either of you explain the system on which nurses are graded in the US and the pay scales and do you know anything about IL, also are British nurses accepted well over there , how are they regarded within the hospital enviroment? Thanks for your help with this and sorry to post one reply to both of you, I am not being rude I am just short of time. Thanks to both of you once again, Shelly.

Sorry, but that is completely wrong. CGFNS doesn't accept the training without further classes if you do not already have them completed, so it also comes down to when you graduated from school. The US requirement has a requirement of a specific number of hours, both clinical and theory.
Just think, if they are the only agency agency that is saying that, then why aren't the others? And sorry, but they are charging you a fee to tell you this? Something very fishy there.
When did you actually graduate? And from which program?
Hi I think that I will steer clear of these people, thanks for that. How much time do you have to make up, I am taking the BN Hons in adult nursing so what time would I have to make up on child health and mental health, also to what level would I have to be trained in these areas? Shell
Each state has its own specific requirements, it is not to a certain level, but a number of hours in both clinical as well as theory hours. The hours must be done is an apporved school of nurisng, you cannot be working on a unit and get dredit for that, or get the hours by volunteering. Just so that you are aware fo that.

I know this is slightly off the subject but a bit more about this company.
Just to let you know I contacted this company and they informed me no commitment either way until I passsed NCLEX. I paid all my own fees.
I paid £300 for online Kaplan course and passed NCLEX first time within 3 months. They were a great support to me online and over the telephone.
They then wanted me to sign a contact with US company with a $16,000 get out clause (NO WAY WAS I DOING THAT)
They got very upset with this.
Suzanne if email a copy of my contract can you tell me how binding my contract is and if I can get out of it. Thanks
Thanks for that, will steer clear of this company, Shell.
Send it to me..............you have my e-mail address.

Hello All,
I'm not sure who you talked to at Adevia, but I came to the US with them last year and they were great. I suggest you call back. I was not charged any money and they found me a job just near my brother, here in Dallas. I did have to pay for my NCLEX exam, but I got all that money back once I passed. Anyway, I'm here, just outside of Dallas and loving it! I'm making twice as much money and working half the time. Good luck to you all!
