Rejection letter does not mean I will stop trying

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I have 3.7 nursing pre-req gpa/3.5 cum gpa

but I got rejected by the school of my choice 3 TIMES!

I still don't understand why I did not get in after a great interview and great essays.

For a whole day yesterday, I felt worthless and did not know how to tell my parents.

But this morning I woke up thinking that

I know this is the path I must take and I just can't give up !

So bye, BSN track, even though that means saying bye to the scholarship,

I will be applying for ASN and I am going to be a kick ass nurse.

YEAH!

Good for you for not giving up! Have you considered applying at other schools as well? This particular school might just feel that you are not a good "fit" for them, which does not mean that you would not make a great nursing student. After researching all available options in my area, I decided to apply at 3 schools, even if it meant taking additional prerequisites that one school required and another wouldn't. Good luck, you'll work it out!

Were you told why you were rejected 3 times?

In the county I live in priority is not only given based on gpa and pre-reqs completed but also on being a resident of the county for at least a year.

No I have not been told besides, "We had too many applicants...."

I have been a resident of this state and a student at the school I applied too.

But this is one of the top school for BSN programs so there were probably students with higher gpa's than me.

Thank you. I am currently looking at ASN programs that are luckily available in my area. I am getting over the whole rejection letter part, but I don't know how my parents might react. I really hope I don't disappoint them...

There is so much competition these days for seats in nursing programs that there are many, many applicants with great grades, references, good interviews, etc. You'd be amazed at who doesn't get in to nursing schools these days.

Having said that, there are also many, many nursing schools out there. Applying to only one school seems pretty short-sighted. Have you thought about applying to other BSN programs?

Best wishes.

Wow, that is scary.

I got rejected once when I applied for the ADN with a 3.6 gpa. So I decided to go LPN-RN-BSN.

I should start RN in May.

I hope the credits you've completed are transferable to the next college. If you've completed the pre-reqs for ADN you could find a hospital that has an earn as you learn program.

Just keep applying and you might have to apply to more schools. I have classmates that were rejected 4 times! But eventually made it in.

DON'T GIVE UP. KEEP TRYING. Your parents should be proud of you for trying that hard. I would be.:specs:
