Registration Verification from Saudi Council

Hi! Been following the discussion about verification of nurse registration since last week and I decided to join this site to get some help and be of assistance, if possible.

Currently, I am applying for Further Assessment in Alberta's College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). At this stage, the only requirement I need is the Verification of Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or known as the Saudi Council. I was advised that it is done online so I paid and received a Certificate of Good Standing via email in a matter of minutes. I thought everything was fine but the problem has just get started from that point.

Two weeks ago, I sent the said certificate electronically but they advised me to have it printed and sent directly from its source that is Saudi Council. So I went there a couple of days back to ask them to send it as it is the requirement of CARNA (with the fee of sending to be paid by me) but they declined my request. They just gave me an envelope and instructed me to send it myself.

The dilemma did not end there because last night, CARNA emailed me that the certificate does not include the Initial Date of Registration and that their Nurse Consultant will call them with this concern. As for my end, I am planning to go back there and have the Verification of Nurse Registration Form filled up in addition to the good standing certificate. However, I would like to hear from you guys who have the same concern or been processing their CARNA registration or with any other jurisdiction (eg., NMC UK, AHPRA) that requires registration verification from Saudi Arabia.

i am also on nmc pack 2 and also have to do saudi council verification. i asked my friend who happens to be in charged of saudi council application in my previous hospital where i worked in riyadh to do it for me. but the contact person advised him to ask me to mail the form to them directly and then they will send me a letter containing instructions and payment. once done, they will send the completed form directly to nmc.

im not sure if this will work. but i will call saudi council this week for further information.

hello sir edong. iwas worried when i read the post of aoprn1984 rgrding the verification of license in scfhs in riyadh. i am goint to ask a feiend from riyadh to do it on my behalf, and told him the experience you had at scfhs in riyadh. he will going to follow it. would it still be possible? can he do it on my behalf?

Hi donna. I saw at least 2 persons that day who were just authorised to process in behalf of those who need a verification. They actually did not show any letter of authorisation (better prepare one just in case) but were entertained so it might work for you as well. So worry no more, for as long as you are registered with them, they will accommodate your request.

i also told my friend to request a good standing vertificate there so that it will also be included in my pack 2 when they send it to london. can it be printed there? or it is really issued through email only?

You're welcome donna. Really? At least even he's offline he can check on it. Regarding the Good Standing Cert, as far as I know, it would be sent via email. The advantage of which is that at least you may generate several copies of it, if so you wish.

Reading this thread is a bit discouraging. I'm currently in Saudi and I'm a female, needless to say it's quite difficult to go out and processing the necessary documents is nearly impossible. I took the IELTS early this month and passed. I'll pick up the hard copy of the result next week and I shall then start with the NMC registration. I have a few questions about the timeline and the length of waiting period in between packs. I also want to clarify about the papers they ask for in Pack 1, all that I have are photocopies and they have not been notarized including the Saudi Council certificate although I had that translated, would that be a problem? I can't afford to go out that often because our drivers here complain a lot and sometimes they flat out refuse so I'm being very careful as I want to be able to go to Saudi Council when they send me the verification form in pack 2. According to the website photocopies would do.

My contract is ending in 3 months and I'm quite worried, after accomplising the online form via NMC website how long do I wait til they send me the initial pack? And how long til they send me the 2nd one? I want to finalize the verification process in Saudi Council before I leave for the Philippines because as you mentioned it's even trickier once you're out of the Kingdom. Help would be greatly appreciated.

hi. if i were you. do not end your contract until you have the decision letter. or until you have an employer and uk visa

it takes 2 to 3 weeks for them to send the 1st pack. 4 to 6 wks for the second pack. it will also depend how quick you submit the required documents. then 60 to 90 days for nmc decision.

re saudi council certificate, send the translation as well as the authenticated photocopy.

i called the saudi council and the lady said.. yes,,a representative can do it. the fee is sr 150.

This is so frustrating. I just don't understand why they're making this all so complicated. All they have to do is recieve the forms mailed to them, fill them out and then send it to NMC. Why can't they just do that instead of making it so needlessly difficult for us. They have to know that the freedom of movement in this country for women is next to nonexistent and that most of the nurses here are women. So why are the legal processes so damn inefficient in this forsaken place. I an nowhere near Riyadh and our drivers don't want to travel that far so what the hell am I supposed to do now? I'm so lost. I apologize for rambling.

i am at the pack 2 stage of nmc application. and all i can say is that nmc application has become more complicated due to the fact that i once worked in saudi. it is because of this saudi council verification where NO SOP HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED YET. right now, it all depends on luck.

you have the advantage because you are still in saudi arabia. its quite easier than when you are somewhere else in the world., so, go girl! you can do it.

by the way, do you already have a UK employer?
