Hi! Been following the discussion about verification of nurse registration since last week and I decided to join this site to get some help and be of assistance, if possible.
Currently, I am applying for Further Assessment in Alberta's College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). At this stage, the only requirement I need is the Verification of Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or known as the Saudi Council. I was advised that it is done online so I paid and received a Certificate of Good Standing via email in a matter of minutes. I thought everything was fine but the problem has just get started from that point.
Two weeks ago, I sent the said certificate electronically but they advised me to have it printed and sent directly from its source that is Saudi Council. So I went there a couple of days back to ask them to send it as it is the requirement of CARNA (with the fee of sending to be paid by me) but they declined my request. They just gave me an envelope and instructed me to send it myself.
The dilemma did not end there because last night, CARNA emailed me that the certificate does not include the Initial Date of Registration and that their Nurse Consultant will call them with this concern. As for my end, I am planning to go back there and have the Verification of Nurse Registration Form filled up in addition to the good standing certificate. However, I would like to hear from you guys who have the same concern or been processing their CARNA registration or with any other jurisdiction (eg., NMC UK, AHPRA) that requires registration verification from Saudi Arabia.
Aside from the dates, did they specify the reason/s why I was allowed to practice in KSA even without registration? I think that's the most important thing that should be included. There is less than 6 mos gap but my agency told me to secure one because some applicants were requested to produce an explanation letter even if the gap is only 2 to 3 months. SCFHS did not particularly specify the reason for the temporary unregistered practice. However, they acknowedged the date of employment despite the fact that I got registered at a later date.

Hello, rakneethu! At first, I requested for the explanation letter for the temporary unregistered practice from SCFHS' Riyadh branch, but they told me to send an email instead to [email protected]. I sent them an email, then I went to the nearest provincial branch to secure one, which was released on the same day. Best of luck!

did they reply to your mail?. what was the reply?? was that reply advise you to approach the provincial branch? kindly help me..my NMC registration is pending only because of this document. My friend in Riyadh went to scfhs but they did not give any certificate regarding the unregistered practice. I have sent mail to [email protected] three days before but no reply yet..I am so worried!!

I sent them an email, and they told me that SCFHS will only release an explanation letter for the unregistered practice if the gap between the employment and registration date is more than 6 months. However, I tried the provincial branch to request for the aforementioned letter, and they gladly helped me secure one. It is way much better to get the explanation letter from a provincial branch instead of the main office in Riyadh.

My friend went to Saudi Council Riyadh, but they only give a certificate stating my employment dates, date of registration and my name. But it would be better if they will provide an explanation letter like yours. I am very anxious with my NMC application since I will be leaving for UK next week and I signed an additional contract stating that I will be repatriated once I will not be granted with decision letter and that's horrible. I am just praying and hoping that NMC will consider all my documents.
Can I ask you a favor if I can add you guys on facebook? I really had tough times securing this documents.Though I secured a document from Saudi Council but I am not sure if that was acceptable. I will be leaving next week for UK but still struggling with my NMC application because of this unregistered practice. Please I really need your help.

Hi, Anajoy! I received the same certificate which you got from SCFHS Riyadh. It stated only the date of employment and my registration date with Saudi Council. They did not further elaborate the reason why I was allowed a temporary unregistered practice. However, it was the same certificate I sent to NMC. I really pray that it will be accepted by NMC, and the decision letter will be issued soon.
I just want to ask if any of you are processing your verification here in Jeddah? I received my pack 2 more than a week ago. Today I went to SCFHS in Palestine. I had a hard time there as the staffs were not accommodating. And when I asked about their courier service they told me that they will just hand me the sealed envelope and I'll have to send it myself. I Don't know what to do next.
