Hi! Been following the discussion about verification of nurse registration since last week and I decided to join this site to get some help and be of assistance, if possible.
Currently, I am applying for Further Assessment in Alberta's College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). At this stage, the only requirement I need is the Verification of Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or known as the Saudi Council. I was advised that it is done online so I paid and received a Certificate of Good Standing via email in a matter of minutes. I thought everything was fine but the problem has just get started from that point.
Two weeks ago, I sent the said certificate electronically but they advised me to have it printed and sent directly from its source that is Saudi Council. So I went there a couple of days back to ask them to send it as it is the requirement of CARNA (with the fee of sending to be paid by me) but they declined my request. They just gave me an envelope and instructed me to send it myself.
The dilemma did not end there because last night, CARNA emailed me that the certificate does not include the Initial Date of Registration and that their Nurse Consultant will call them with this concern. As for my end, I am planning to go back there and have the Verification of Nurse Registration Form filled up in addition to the good standing certificate. However, I would like to hear from you guys who have the same concern or been processing their CARNA registration or with any other jurisdiction (eg., NMC UK, AHPRA) that requires registration verification from Saudi Arabia.
Thank you!
Good day everyone,
I would to say thank you to sir Edong and stylish gem for sharing their experiences because the process that we are going through is tougher than those who do not have experience in Saudi Arabia. I am still waiting for my second pack (because they requested for another copy of my passport because my signature is not clear-but I complied with the requirement already). Since we got this far, we should just continue to fight against all odds and God will give us what we want because we deserve it.
Sir Edong, I would just like to ask, you processed the additional requirement for SCHS in the Communications Department in Riyadh main office?
Stylish gem, please please please update us if you are able to secure the letter regarding the unregistered practice, and if you have time, please let us know the details.
I am thanking all of you in advance guys!!!
I did exit from the Kingdom since June this year that's why I will be asking my friend to accomplish this for me.
Thanks again!

You're welcome Arya.
Yup, I went to their communication dept or call center office to be exact as it was the advice of the branch manager who referred me there.
We'll get through all of these challenges. It is just that good things never come easy. ✈️
Sir Edong, do you think I will encounter the same problem as yours? I was hired in August 17, 2012 and was only registered in November 20, 2012. That's 3 months and less than a week gap. My fear is that my hospital would not send any explanation letter on why my registration was delayed. They never supported any of their employees.
One more thing, is it really possible to send the forms (the ones to be filled out, included in Pack 2) to SCHS via courier and they can send them directly to NMC in London once they're done completing them? How can we pay for the courier service going to London?
Oliver, if I were you, better hand in over the forms to the SCFHS than sending it to them to avoid it from being misplaced by their staff, or the worst, be left unaccomplished. So go to the main office, bring it along with the copy of your license and pay using your debit card. A week after, or as advised, come back for the form and ask them to send it for you. You'll then have to settle a fee of SAR 100 using your card once more in the finance dept (2/F) and then proceed to another office on the ground floor to have it dispatched.
With how strict and unpredictable they are, I think they would notice that gap. Don't give up yet, try to ask your employer or any of your immediate supervisor to write a letter bearing the official letterhead and stamp/seal of your company, that is, if they are gonna require you. But this thing will come once they have assessed your stage two application.

@ Arya and EdOng, I went to SCFHS main branch in Riyadh for the release of the Verification of registration on the 21st of September, but I had a tough time as well. About a week prior to it, I asked someone to send my documents for registration verification at Saudi Council window 2, which is located only at the ground floor where 2 guards are giving out priority numbers. On the day of the release which is after 5 working days, I waited for 3 hours on the same window where my documents were submitted because they told me that it was probably lost. Therefore, I need to submit my documents again or I should just comeback the next day until they find it. I was really frustrated and worried that my file which I worked hard to accomplish for the past months was actually lost, so I went to the Manager behind the windows of the reception desk. He asked me to go to the Call Center Department, which is on the next room to his office. I entered the call center, and I met one lady who is the head of call center. She was really helpful, and she even accompanied me to the 3rd floor where the Assistant Secretary General's office is located. She told them my story, and that my file is nowhere to be found. The people in that office were really accommodating, and they personally asked the reception desk to search for my file again thoroughly. Within 30 minutes, they finally found my file for the NMC registration verification, and they had it stamped and signed too. In the end, they apologized to me regarding this incident. I never thought that I would experience such difficulty on the release of my SCFHS registration verification. However, I am really grateful to meet amazing people in SCFHS who greatly helped me get this job done.
On the other hand, regarding the explanation letter for the temporary unregistered practice, I asked the head of the Call Center (Communication Department) about it, and she told me they can issue the letter if the gap from the hire date to the registration date is 6 months or more. However, if NMC really insists for an explanation, you can request SCFHS to send them that letter by sending an email to [email protected]
I intend to send them an email, and go to the SCFHS branch here in Gassim to ask for the original letter with stamp and signature from the branch manager just like what EdOng did. I personally think that it is less difficult to request for the explanation letter from the provincial branch than the main branch in Riyadh. Am I making the right thing? What do you suggest EdOng?
That's what I exactly did. ?
I already sent SCFHS an email regarding the request for the letter explaining the temporary unregistered practice from my hire date to Saudi Council registration date. I also went to SCFHS Gassim branch yesterday, and they asked me to pay SAR 150 for the explanation letter. Since I am from a very far place, I asked them to release it on the same day, which they did. They sealed and stamped the envelope containing the letter, and I told them that I will be the one to send it to NMC. I want to send it along with my 2nd application pack to back up my documents especially during the assessment of my NMC application. I hope NMC will accept this letter. God bless!
Good day!
@Edong. Sir, here I am, one more time, asking you again about NMC pack 2. Sir, did you pass notarized copies of your elementary and high school diploma as part of pack2? did they require it, because in the pdf file with the detailed instructions on how to register, it is stated, "You must have successfully completed at least 10 years of school education before starting a post-secondary education nursing or midwifery training programme, leading to registration in their home country as a first level registered nurse or midwife".
I am hoping they do not require these...
Thanks in advance!

Hi there Arya. Yes, I did provide them with certified true copies of both diplomas.

@kate_d thanks for the advice. I'll go back to the atty's office tomorrow. Have you finished pack 2 already? Any problems encountered?
