Hi! Been following the discussion about verification of nurse registration since last week and I decided to join this site to get some help and be of assistance, if possible.
Currently, I am applying for Further Assessment in Alberta's College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). At this stage, the only requirement I need is the Verification of Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or known as the Saudi Council. I was advised that it is done online so I paid and received a Certificate of Good Standing via email in a matter of minutes. I thought everything was fine but the problem has just get started from that point.
Two weeks ago, I sent the said certificate electronically but they advised me to have it printed and sent directly from its source that is Saudi Council. So I went there a couple of days back to ask them to send it as it is the requirement of CARNA (with the fee of sending to be paid by me) but they declined my request. They just gave me an envelope and instructed me to send it myself.
The dilemma did not end there because last night, CARNA emailed me that the certificate does not include the Initial Date of Registration and that their Nurse Consultant will call them with this concern. As for my end, I am planning to go back there and have the Verification of Nurse Registration Form filled up in addition to the good standing certificate. However, I would like to hear from you guys who have the same concern or been processing their CARNA registration or with any other jurisdiction (eg., NMC UK, AHPRA) that requires registration verification from Saudi Arabia.
I was able to submit my NMC pack 2 third week of November, but I still am not able to go through the SCFHS requirement. I mailed the verification of registration form to SCFHS riyadh, and they received it on November 16. I included with the documents my receipt of payment thru NCB. I keep on following up by calling their international number (since I am staying in the Philippines), and they gave me an application number. I called them today and they said it is still in process. It has been 9working days already. My friend who will pick up the verification of registration and will do the mailing works office hours that's why I want to be 100% sure that when he goes there, the document is ready.
@stylish gem, if I remember it right, your verification of registration only took 5 working days? (Off topic, is your decision letter released already?)
I am quite worried at the moment. Every time I call them, they just keep saying it is still in process.

Hi Matly. Nope, I still am waiting for the form from the NMC. That is for my 2006 waived registration and license, since my verification with the PRC only included my 2007 registration. Sorry for not answering quickly as I was so busy these past few days. Good luck to you mate.

Surely, we will. Yes I did, as a supporting document. But based from what I learned from the disaster that I went through is that, as long as they provided you with a verification (be it the PRC or SCFHS) using the form given to you, that should be enough. Best of luck!
Can I ask one more question, how many days did it take for you to process your verification of registration?...Mine was received by saudi council on nov.16, then they gave me an application number, but it was still in process last Thursday.

No problem Arya. It took them around 5 days to accomplish the form. They did not issue me an application number that time, anyway, I am glad they made it real quick and easy for me.
Hi, i am currently waiting for my nmc decision letter.my nmc got complicted because i worked before in saudi arabia for 3 years not regiatered to saudi council.Nmc kept asking me to ask a letter from saudi council.but saudi council will never give any letter to a non registered nurse.It took me 1 year and 6 months to process my NMC and until now I am stuck to pack 2.Do you have any idea on how to secure a certificate of good moral from saudi council in cases like me which was not regiatered before to the council.I will appreciate your reaponse.thank you
Hello sethelen, I'm sorry to hear that, but I have no idea about dealing with such a case. To get a better advice, try to contact SCFHS and explain the situation that you are in now. Also, gather relevant documents to support your claims. Hope it helps.
hi sethelen, I had the same situation like yours. First call the NMC and ask them for unregistered practice verification form. Its true that saudi council will not make letter for you but they can sign the form for 300 SAR, provide evidences that you really worked there before as a nurse like your entry exit visa, iqama, emplyment certificate signed by the chamber of commerce. My friend in Jeddah was able to help me sign the unregistered practice form. If you know anybody from jeddah its better to let someone do it there for you. Hope you will hve it signed soon.
