I was wondering if anyone out there had any information they would like to share about the direct entry NP program at Regis College? I was accepted, and I really like the school, but I have found that there isnt as much information from currenlt, prospective, or previous students as there is about other schools. Any information that anyone has to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
CMarieRN,
I just reread your post about Regis' MSN program. I have been going back and forth with friends and family about which program to choose. I am applying to Regis, Simmons and BC for the Direct Entry programs and to Quincy and Massasoit for the ASN programs. I know that any nursing program will be difficult regardless of where I attend, but I just can't decide which route will be better for me. I am sending in my applications now, so I don't yet know IF or WHERE I will get in, but I want to be prepared for either decision.
My question is, what were your weeks like in the first and following semesters? How long were your days/nights/clinicals? Thanks again:)

Has any applicant for the 2010 fall class actually receive an acceptance letter or had an interview with Regis? I applied for early decision last week and have not yet heard anything from them. I did meet with the advisors before turning in my application, so would this count as an interview? So in that case am I just waiting for an acceptance or a rejection letter in the mail at this point? I had emailed the school yesterday but have not gotten a response. Is that a bad sign? Am I just being paranoid? My application is a bit on the weak side and I am wavering about my chances of getting accepted. I wish there was something more I could do.....I guess it all really depends on the strength of other applicants.
If you have an experience or an advice you'd like to share, I'd love to hear from you:)
Hi Cherish, I received my acceptance letter from Regis last week. I met with them as well before I sent in my application, I think this counts as the interview. Maybe they just wait to hear back from some applicants before sending out the rest of the letters. I guess it's good if you haven't received a rejection letter either. Good luck, let me know if you get in, we might be classmates soon.
Hi gis0610!
I actually did receive my acceptance letter!....it was 2 days before Christmas! To be honest I really didn't expect to hear from them so soon, so it was a really nice surprise! I am really excited! It really takes a load off. So now I can basically plan the new year in terms of my finances and living arrangements..ect. Never thought I'd say it...but I can't wait to go back to school!
Did you apply to other schools? Regis was my first choice. I did apply to Simmons and MGH as well. Where did you do your undergrad? I graduated from Northeastern.
I still have one more prerequisite to take in the spring then I'm basically done. Are you planning to attend the info session Jan. 25? I'd love to stay in touch since it looks like we will be classmates:) Feel free to PM or email me.
Hi KIMRRT!
Congrats to you! I was hoping to meet new friends before the start of the program since I'm sure we have a long journey to look forward to. It's nice to be able to share experiences with someone who would understand.
Did you say you graduated from NU in 2010?...did you mean a different year?...I graduated from NU too in...it seems so long ago...2004. Since then I've been in clinical research. After the last couple of years I decided I needed a new challenge in my life and I really found I love working with people especially in a therapeutic role. We did a lot of clinical trials and I had the opportunity to meet hundreds of patients, who truly inspired me.
Nursing is an incredibly diverse, complicated, and very well rewarding profession. But you certainly have to really love it to be successful. I'm sure that can be tough considering all the factors. To be honest, although I am extremely excited about the aspect of become a nurse practitioner, I am also terrified! It's a tough program and not everyone can make it through. I do feel at this point I am ready for the challenge. I mean just the application process itself was nerve-wrecking lol.
Hi Cherish18 and KIMRRT,
Congratulations to you both! I graduated from UMASS Lowell in 2006, I currently work
as a medical technologist in a hospital and although I really enjoy my current career
I also think nursing is very rewarding and can't wait to get started. I too am extremely
terrified though. I still have one prereq. to take in the spring. Regis is my first choice too but I just sent my applications for MGH and Simmons. I will be attending the info session on Jan. 25 hope to see you both there.
I don't think I can PM or send email yet..but would like to get in contact.
Ditto on the congrats to Cherish18 and KIMRRT! And new congrats to gis1610! I just signed up on this site, so I wanted to PM you three, but can't. Anyway, I also got accepted early decision into the program at Regis for Fall 2010 entry, so I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially if you're going to the session on 1/25 (I can't because of work). Maybe one of you is able to PM so we can chat? Thanks!

The price of books can vary as I bought a lot of books used online.
The first semester is 3 classes per week an 16 hours of clinical/lab, so about 30 hours per week of lecture/practicum.
