  1. Hi Cherish18 and KIMRRT, Congratulations to you both! I graduated from UMASS Lowell in 2006, I currently work as a medical technologist in a hospital and although I really enjoy my current career I also think nursing is very rewarding and can't wait to get started. I too am extremely terrified though. I still have one prereq. to take in the spring. Regis is my first choice too but I just sent my applications for MGH and Simmons. I will be attending the info session on Jan. 25 hope to see you both there. I don't think I can PM or send email yet..but would like to get in contact.
  2. I just got accepted into an Accelerated BS/MS for non nurses direct entry program. I am currently a medical technologist at a hospital lab and although I have some tough days at work I really like my job. I decided to apply for a direct entry nursing program because I always knew I wanted to go back to school and have always enjoyed working with patients. I think nursing would be a good fit for me however I am concerned that starting this career change might not be worth it. I have a good job now, I would have to cut my hours significantly once school starts and I wonder if it would be worth the large amount of money I'll be owing after graduation. Just knowing that by being a nurse I'll have more opportunities to have a positive affect on people is reason enough to be going into this with no doubts, but sometimes I can't help but wonder if it will be worth it. Any feedback is welcome.
  3. Hi Cherish, I received my acceptance letter from Regis last week. I met with them as well before I sent in my application, I think this counts as the interview. Maybe they just wait to hear back from some applicants before sending out the rest of the letters. I guess it's good if you haven't received a rejection letter either. Good luck, let me know if you get in, we might be classmates soon.
