Regis College Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys,

I was recently accepted to the Direct entry MSN program for family nurse practitioner at Regis College and I had a couple of questions regarding the school and I was hoping someone at allnurses could shed some light about the program.

First Question is How much is the total cost for the family nurse practitioner program?

Second Question is there any scholarship available that I can get?

Third Question, does regis help you find a preceptor or do the students have to find their own?

Fourth Question, are the professor/clinical instructors out there to help the students or do you have to do everything on your own?( I heard a lot of negative feedback regarding this topic and i just want some clarification)

If someone who attended this school can answer these questions and if they can also give their review about the school/program I'll greatly appreciate it.

Thank you guys

I understand. I am going to try to set an appointment to meet with a counselor next week. Hoping to hear from other schools before the 28th deadline. Keep us updated and good luck to everyone!

Hey everyone-

Today I traveled out to Regis for an appointment with the admissions counselor and received a little tour of the campus. I also met with someone from housing, looked at a dorm, and spoke with financial aid. I got a very nice impression of the staff and the campus has that small community feel. Apparently the cohort is 36 students and we take exams on ipads lol. Tuition costs for the whole program is around $143,000 which is pretty expensive. The clinical placements look awesome and I have been hearing that it's a strong program. I also received a rough outline to what a day to day schedule would like if anyone wants me to share. Overall, the visit was very informative.

I am going to place my first deposit at the end of this month. I am committed to Regis unless I hear back from UMass, which would be significantly more affordable. Just trying to figure out loans and whatnot since there is less financial aid for grad students. Any updates from you guys?

Hi, I was also accepted.. Does anyone know if we can push the date back on the deadline for acceptance/deposit? I'm waiting to hear back from a few schools and wasn't expecting to hear back so soon. Would it be a huge mistake to move my app to the next pool?

I don't think so, we applied early action.

Regis FAQ

Hi, I recently had an interview at Regis for acceptance into the Fall of 2018. I am waiting on an decision, which they stated I should receive before mid next week! Would you share the day to day schedule? I am really interested to see what the program entails on a day-to-day basis!

This is the "sample" schedule I received from the admissions counselor. He said it is subject to change next semester, but its still nice to have some sort of idea!

Monday: 8a-12pm (NU 624: Prof. Nursing), 2-4:30pm (NU 619: Clinical Pharmacology), 5-6pm (NU 624 Math Class)

Tuesday: 9a-10:30a, 10:30a-12pm (NU Health Assessment 304-02); Labs 10:30-12pm, 12-3pm (NU Health Assessment Lab NU 304 x-01 )

Wednesday: 7-10a; 10-1pm (Simulation Labs) ; 3-6pm 11-3PM (Prof. Nursing: NU 624)

Thursday: 7a-3pm; Possible Clinical Day

Friday: 7a-3pm; Possible Clinical Day

I hope this is easy to follow- it was a bit hard to type out. I listed the course names and numbers too. On the school website they have the curriculum plan if you want to look at that too. From my understanding we only have one clinical day, either on Thursday or Friday.

Hi! I was accepted into the Regis program as well for Fall 2018. While I am super excited, I am also distraught as I have applied to a number of other schools and will not hear from them until after the January 3rd deposit deadline. Has anyone clarified the preceptorship question that the first poster asked? Additionally, if we do put down a deposit, can we easily withdraw our spots after the fact? I may have to do that if I hear back from my number 1 school :/

Melodeeya, how were you able to schedule an appointment with the admissions counselor? Did you email him to ask for a tour?

You applied to UMASS Worcester? How much is the tuition for that school?

Yes, I just emailed the counselor and he was happy to meet with me. The students were done with finals so campus was pretty empty so it was easy to get a chance to talk to everybody.

I did apply to UMass Worcester as well, I have been posting on that thread too. I don't know it off hand, but I think in the FAQ it says that most students come out with $86,000 in debt?

That's what I thought but it doesn't seem like that

I am also applying around to Regis, Simmons, Frontier, George Washington, and my least favorite Chamberlain for NP programs. Simmons and Regis are priorities. I am extremely worried because my GPA is low as well. My prereqs are A's and B's but my Nursing is wheewww not too good!!!! Have you heard anything back from where you've applied??

Hi! Does anyone know how the waitlist for Regis works?
